20080248975 | DRILLING FLUID - This invention is based upon the finding that certain chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers can be beneficially utilized in drilling fluids that are utilized in drilling subterreanean wells. For instance, it has been unexpectedly found that certain chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers can be beneficially used as total or partial replacements for organoclays in oil based drilling fluids. The chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers that are useful in the practice of this invention are typically chlorosulfonated ethylene/octene copolymers or chlorosulfonated ethylene/butene copolymers. The chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers will contain from 0.2 to 5 weight percent sulfur. The utilization of chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers in oil-based drilling fluids offers (1) long service life at high operating temperatures, (2) minimal formation damage, (3) improved filtration behavior, and (4) highly effective performance at low viscosifier levels. Additionally, the chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers utilized in the practice of this invention are soluble in conventional drilling fluid formulations which reduce the level of mixing required in preparation of the drilling fluid formulation. This makes the preparation of the drilling fluid easier, faster and less energy intensive. The chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymers used in making the drilling fluids of this invention are also free flowing powders which makes them easier to handle than the sulfonated EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubbers) crumbs employed in the drilling fluids of the prior art. The present invention more specifically discloses an oil-based drilling fluid which is comprised of: (a) an organic liquid; (b) water; (c) an emulsifier; (d) a wetting agent; (e) a fluid loss reducing agent; (f) a weighting material; and (g) a chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymer. The subject invention further reveals a process for drilling a well into a subterranean formation which comprises boring a hole into the earth by rotary drilling, wherein an oil-based drilling fluid is circulated down a drilling pipe and returned to the surface of the earth through a pipe hole annulus, wherein the oil-based drilling fluid is comprised of (a) an organic liquid; (b) water; (c) an emulsifier; (d) a wetting agent; (e) a fluid loss reducing agent; (f) a weighting material; and (g) a chlorosulfonated α-olefin copolymer. | 10-09-2008 |

A coloring solution may comprise for example a metallic salt, a solvent, an organic solvent such as derivatives of propylene oxides, and an acid can be introduced to the slip casting process. Such a coloring solution can be added to the slip casting process. The solution is thoroughly mixed with the ceramic slurry, after which the ceramic body is cast, dried and finally subjected to a sintering process. After final sinter, the resulting ceramic body possesses an innate color that is homogenous throughout its composition. The method is especially useful for coloring zirconia dental restorations. | 09-05-2013 |

20140368093 | Multiple Field Motor Controller - An electric motor including a first conductive winding, a second conductive winding, a rotor, and a controller is disclosed. When energized by an AC source, the first conductive winding generates a first magnetic field. The second conductive winding, which is configured to be selectively energized by the AC source via one or more switches, is arranged so as to generate a second magnetic field superimposed with the first magnetic field when so energized. The rotor magnetically interacts with the first magnetic field, or the superimposed first magnetic field and second magnetic field, such that a torque is applied on the rotor. The controller is configured to: (i) obtain a measurement of a voltage of the AC source; (ii) make a determination, based on the measurement, whether to energize the second conductive winding; and (iii) energize the second conductive winding in accordance with the determination. | 12-18-2014 |

20110167075 | USING GESTALT INFORMATION TO IDENTIFY LOCATIONS IN PRINTED INFORMATION - A facility for identifying a location in a printed document is described. The facility obtains an image of the printed document, and extracts gestalt information from text occurring in the image of the printed document. The facility compares the extracted gestalt information to an index of documents and, based upon this comparison, identifies a document that includes the gestalt information. | 07-07-2011 |

20100318466 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADVERTISEMENT TRACKING - An apparatus comprising a server. The server can be configured to receive a request for content from a mobile computing device. The server can be configured to transmit the content to the mobile computing device in response to the request. The content can include an advertisement. The mobile computing device can be configured to store an indication of whether the content has been previously presented on the mobile computing device. The server can be configured to receive an identifier from the mobile computing device in response to a presentation of the content by the mobile computing device if the content is being presented for the first time on the mobile computing device. The identifier can indicate whether the content is presented on the mobile computing device for the first time. The server can be configured to monitor the exposure of the advertisement based on the identifier. | 12-16-2010 |
