20090169942Physical Vapor Deposited Nano-Composites for Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Electrodes - Thin-film composite materials with nanometer-scale grains comprise a thin-film layer that includes at least an electronic and an ionic conductor, and can be porous and/or resistant to redox-degradation. The thin-film composite materials can be formed by simultaneous co-deposition of at least an electronic and an ionic conductor onto a substrate using physical vapor deposition methods. Sacrificial materials can be co-deposited with the electronic and ionic conductors and subsequently removed from the thin-film layer to form a network of pores in the thin-film layer, that is, a porous thin-film composite material. A solid oxide fuel cell comprises an anode, an electrolyte and a cathode, wherein the anode and cathode are independently a thin-film composite material and the electrolyte is a thin-film material. Particularly, redox-degradation resistant thin-film composite materials can be used both as anodic and cathodic electrodes, which allows fabrication of fuel cell stacks with symmetric thermo-mechanical properties, thereby increasing mechanical stability. The nanometer-scale grain size and intimate phase mixing in these composites leads to increased reaction kinetics, and therefore is expected to yield increased power output from fuel cell stacks employing these thin-film composite materials.07-02-2009

20090094898Assembly of Cam-actuated Brake in Locking Shoe for Tilt Sash - An assembly of a cam and a tilt lock in a shoe for a tilt sash includes retainer tabs disposed near the cam to trap movable brake pads between the tabs and a shoe wall so that the brake pads can move apart in response to pivoting of the cam to a locked position and can move back toward each other to an unlocked position while remaining effectively retained by the tabs.04-16-2009
20090260295Frictional Drop Resistance for Sash Counterbalanced by Curl Springs - Window sash counterbalances using curl springs and holders can increase resistance to sash drop without causing sash hop by using a high coefficient of friction bearing surfaces against which curled up coils of curl springs slide when uncurling or re-curling. The higher friction bearing material produces more frictional resistance to spring uncurling than to spring re-curling and thus resists drop without causing hop. This allows a wider range of sash weights to be counterbalanced by a fewer number of counterbalance forces, saves manufacturing cost.10-22-2009
20090277097Dynamic Window Jamb Channel Block - The device of the present invention is identified as a chimney block for use in the jamb channels of window frames. The chimney block impedes or substantially reduces the vertical movement of air through the jamb channel. The reduction in air movement improves the insulating properties of the window and minimizes the amount of dust and fine dirt that might otherwise enter the jamb channel resulting in a progressively increasing force required to move the sash through the jamb channel. It consists of a vertical structural element which is secured to a planar sealing element that conforms to the cross section of the jamb channel. Legs or struts are attached in proximity to the other end of the vertical structural element to insure that the chimney block essentially remains in the same position to provide an air block.11-12-2009
20130074351FIREARM LASER SIGHT ALIGNMENT ASSEMBLY - A firearm laser sight alignment assembly includes a laser module for emitting a beam along an optical axis, the laser module having an outer seat. The alignment assembly encompasses a resilient grommet mechanically engaging the outer seat in a first adhesive free interference fit. The grommet includes an external seat sized to form adhesive free interferences fits with a laser cover and the housing, as the laser cover engages the housing to retain the grommet with respect to the housing and the laser cover. Upon operable assembly, the interference fits substantially preclude axial and longitudinal movement between the grommet and the laser module as well as the grommet and the laser cover and housing, while allowing angular movement of the laser module to a desired alignment position.03-28-2013
20130283699LOCKING CARRIER AND MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT FOR TILT SASH COUNTERBALANCE SYSTEMS - A window balance assembly comprising an improved locking carrier mechanism is disclosed. The locking mechanism is actuated when the window sash is tilted. Cam surfaces on the receiver of the mechanism engage cam followers in the clamshell-type housing of the carrier forcing them apart outwardly to lock the carrier in the jamb channel of a window assembly and prevent movement of the carrier in the channel. The receiver incorporates two cams that engage two cam follower surfaces in the housing to improve the distribution of the locking forces of the carrier in the jamb channel. A dual-locking carrier expands in both the axial and lateral directions to contact both front and back surfaces and opposing side surfaces of the jamb channel.10-31-2013

20080236046Tamper Proof Locking Device for Window Balance Carriers - A tamper proof interlock insert for window balance carriers that is non-permanently installed into a drop-in carrier to prevent the unauthorized removal of the sash from the window frame. The interlock insert is inserted into the channel by the window manufacturer after the pivot bar, which connects to the sash, has been inserted into the carrier. Once the interlock insert is installed in the carrier, the pivot bar cannot be removed. Since the interlock insert is non-permanently installed in the carrier it can be disengaged from the carrier relatively easily by a trained technician in the event that the sash must be removed from the window for repair or replacement.10-02-2008
20140130394Recoil Spring Guide Mounted Target Marker - In an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a target marker for a firearm may comprise a module having a first portion, and a second portion electrically connected and coupled to the first portion. A light source may be disposed within and electrically connected to the second portion. An optical component may be coupled to the first portion at a first fixed distance from the light source. A circuit board may be electrically connected to the light source via at least one lead, wherein the lead may permit relative movement between the circuit board and the light source and may maintain a second fixed distance between the circuit board and the light source.05-15-2014
20140150323FIREARM LASER SIGHT ALIGNMENT ASSEMBLY - A firearm laser sight alignment assembly includes a laser module for emitting a beam along an optical axis, the laser module having an outer seat.
