20080222533 | Real time internet communications system - A novel real time Internet communication system is disclosed. It is a novel way for users to collaborate on the fly, and without having to own or download any programs that then stay resident on the user's computer. Users collaborate in an online environment where they communicate through chat room type dialogue, while at the same time, one or more users designated as leaders guide the other participants' browsers to selected sites on a distributed network or the Internet. It is marketed under a novel business system that makes highly productive software available to businesses and end users, but which is not purchased by customers or end users, has no conventional distribution system, and never requires update, installation or rollout by the customer or end user. | 09-11-2008 |
20140180725 | SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING VERIFICATION OF INSURANCE INFORMATION VIA A GAME SYSTEM - Systems, apparatus, methods, and articles of manufacture provide for facilitating verification of insurance information via a game system. Some embodiments provide for rewarding a customer with a game reward (e.g., points, in-game content) in exchange for the customer submitting, via a mobile device, a digital image of a customer activity or other information related to an insurance product. | 06-26-2014 |

20100235565 | APPARATUS AND METHOD TO PROTECT METADATA AGAINST UNEXPECTED POWER DOWN - A system includes first memory configured to store first metadata to associate logical addresses with physical addresses. Second memory is configured to include the physical addresses, to store first data based on the physical addresses, and to store portions of the first metadata when a status of a predetermined group of the physical addresses is changed. A recovery module is configured to update the first metadata based on the portions of the first metadata stored in the second memory. | 09-16-2010 |
20110296123 | MEMORY ACCESS TABLE SAVING AND RESTORING SYSTEM AND METHODS - A system includes a first memory configured to store a first lookup table (LUT) with first metadata. A second memory is configured to store a second LUT with second metadata, wherein the first metadata includes a first mapping between logical addresses and physical addresses. The second metadata includes a second mapping between the logical addresses and the physical addresses. A control module is configured to update the first metadata. The control module is configured to update segments of the second metadata based on the first metadata at respective predetermined times. Each of the segments refers to a predetermined number of entries of the second LUT. | 12-01-2011 |
20120303873 | METHOD FOR STORAGE DEVICES TO ACHIEVE LOW WRITE AMPLIFICATION WITH LOW OVER PROVISION - A solid state drive (SSD) includes an SSD control module configured to determine frequencies corresponding to how often data stored in respective logical addresses associated with the SSD is updated and form groups of the logical addresses according to the frequencies, and a memory control module configured to rewrite the data to physical addresses in blocks of an SSD storage region based on the groups. | 11-29-2012 |
20140052904 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RECOVERING ADDRESSING DATA - A memory includes first memory configured to store first data indicating relationships between logical addresses and respective physical addresses, wherein the physical addresses are arranged in a plurality of different groups, respective statuses of each of the plurality of different groups, and an activity log indicating when any of the respective statuses has changed. A second memory is configured to store second data in memory locations corresponding to the physical addresses and, in response to a respective status of one of the plurality of groups changing, store a portion of the first data corresponding to the one of the plurality of groups. A recovery module is configured to update, in response to the activity log indicating that the respective status of the one of the plurality of groups has changed, the first data with the portion of the first data corresponding to the one of the plurality of groups. | 02-20-2014 |

20080207801 | Compatibilization of Polymer Clay Nanocomposites - A polymer nanocomposite contains layered clay dispersed in a polymer matrix together with compatibilizers for the clay and polymer matrix. The compatibilizers are a combination of two or more graft polymers. One graft polymer has high functionality and short chain length and another graft polymer has low functionality and long chain length. Such polymer nanocomposites have improved dispersion and better strength and modulus, while maintaining good toughness and impact strength. The polymer nanocomposites are particularly useful in applications where good mechanical performance and light-weight are of importance. | 08-28-2008 |
20100044914 | Primer composition and uses thereof - The present invention provides a primer for a thermoplastic and/or elastomeric substrate, the primer comprising a film of an epoxy-modified polymer selected from the group consisting of an epoxy-modified-thermoplastic polymer, an epoxy-modified-thermoplastic polymeric composite, an epoxy-modified-elastomeric polymer, an epoxy-modified-elastomeric polymeric composite, a blend thereof, and any mixture thereof. Also provided are methods of repairing, inserting, assembling and coating a thermoplastic or elastomeric substrate using the primer of the present invention. | 02-25-2010 |
20140121306 | Fire-Resistant Cellulosic Material - A new approach for improving fire resistance of cellulosic materials is provided, especially when the cellulosic material is to be used in polymer composites. Cellulosic material is treated with an aqueous mixture of alkali metal or ammonium hydroxide and alkaline earth or aluminum metal salt simultaneously with or within a short period of time of preparing the mixture. The treated cellulosic material becomes self-extinguishing and may also have improved thermal stability, improved interfacial thermal resistance, improved resistance to damage by oxidants and other chemical agents, improved resistance to biological agents and/or improved resistance to damage by ultra-violet light. The fire-resistant cellulosic material may also be treated with a layered nanoparticulate material either simultaneously with, subsequent to or prior to treatment with the aqueous mixture of alkali metal or ammonium hydroxide and alkaline earth or aluminum metal salt to impart further fire resistance to the cellulosic material. Polymer composites produced from cellulosic material treated according to the present invention have significantly improved fire resistance with small negative impact on the mechanical performance of the composite, and may have the added benefit of improved thermal stability, improved interfacial thermal resistance, improved resistance to damage by oxidants and other chemical agents, improved resistance to biological agents and/or improved resistance to damage by ultra-violet light. | 05-01-2014 |
