20090254316 | SECTOR MESHING AND NEIGHBOR SEARCHING FOR OBJECT INTERACTION SIMULATION - Methods for computer-implemented simulation for the interaction of two or more objects are provided. Data describing particles that represent each of the objects is generated from geometric data for objects. The data for each particle describes a mass density, velocity and energy at a position of the corresponding object. The particles are grouped into sectors to define a computational mesh comprising a plurality of sectors, wherein each sector is a volume region at a position in space in which particles associated with the objects may reside. For each of a plurality of select particles, so called neighboring particles are determined that are within a region of influence with respect to a select particle. Computations are performed based on laws of conservation of mass, energy and momentum to produce updated values for mass, velocity, energy, pressure, stress and position for the particles at each of a plurality of time steps. According to one aspect, when determining neighboring particles for a given select particle, a search is made through a limited or bounded volume region with respect to the select particle that consists of the region of influence for the select particle at the previous time step and within those sectors in contact with or bordering the region of influence at the previous time step. According to another aspect, the plurality of select particles are identified as those particles that reside in an active sector, wherein an active sector is a sector that contains, or is adjacent to a sector that contains, particles that is actively involved in the engagement between the two objects. For example, an active sector is a sector that contains, or is adjacent to a sector that contains, at least one particle that has a velocity, pressure or stress greater than a corresponding predetermined amount. | 10-08-2009 |

20110113541 | Water Conserving Improved Toilet - An efficient dual-use toilet that provides a simple, easy-to-use and reliable solution to the problem of wasted toilet flush water is disclosed. The improved toilet provides a two-compartment toilet bowl, wherein the main bowl is used for solid waste and a hydrophobic secondary bowl is used for liquid waste. When only the secondary bowl is used, the toilet does not require flushing. When the toilet is flushed for solid wastes, water simultaneously cleanses the secondary bowl. Importantly, the drain line for the secondary bowl is configured such that during the flush cycle air is prevented coming back through the sewer system and into the household. The system is fully automatic and provides a very easy-to-learn “flush and forget” solution for the user. The amount of water flushed to the sewer system is greatly reduced, and consequently so is the burden on fresh water supply systems as well as the energy cost in required to deliver water. | 05-19-2011 |

20120083159 | Three Way Light Bulb Contact - An improved contact element on a 3-way bulb that inhibits the bulb from loosening is disclosed. A special annular washer replaced the standard annular washer commonly used to connect the electrical source to the low wattage element. Rather than being a smooth washer it has a surface designed to allow the contact to move easily over the surface of the socket contact with being screwed into the socket but will provide greater friction when unscrewing the light bulbs. This will permit the user to use the light bulb until its element(s) are burned out without having to re-tighten or discard it early, mistakenly believing the low wattage element to have burned out. The new design annular contact will also create adequate friction on the socket contact's small area to clean this surface of non conductive oxides that may form over time, thereby extending the useful life of the socket switch unit. | 04-05-2012 |
