20150190667Multi Function Exercise Apparatus With Resistance Mechanism - An exercise apparatus that provides multiple different exercises for a User, including both resistance movements and isometrics. The User interacts with the apparatus by grasping a bar. A resistance mechanism is symmetrically mounted on a second bar and provides infinitely variable resistance to the User, as well as soundproof operation. There is a vertical column that allows infinite positioning of the bars for different bodily exercises, and a bench for support. The User can change the exercise resistance by verbal commands, or the apparatus can vary the exercise resistance in response to the force applied by the User. The apparatus can be operated at locations where electric service is permanently unavailable, or in zero gravity; and the apparatus can be mounted inside a shallow closet and hidden from view. To verify accuracy, the resistance can be calibrated against a known quantity of weight.07-09-2015

20150265911Electronic Tic Tac Toe Game With Extended Play And A Winner In Every Game - An electronic Tic Tac Toe game designed to be played on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets, or on a computer. It is normally played by two players who may be physically at the same location, or who may be at different locations and playing the game with each other while connected through the internet or a cellular connection or other type of network. The players take turns selecting positions on a three by three grid, and the game proceeds. A winner is declared when any player has achieved three of their markers in a row, with a row being any direction to include horizontal or vertical or diagonal. Thus, on the three by three grid, there are a total of eight rows that can accommodate three markers in a row for a winner to be declared. To insure that the game will continue until a winner is achieved for every game, the grid will be evaluated when any player has placed their fourth marker on the grid, and at every successive play after that—and if a winner has not yet been achieved, then one of that player's markers will be removed from the grid, to allow play to continue until one player has achieved three in a row, allowing a winner to be declared.09-24-2015

The federation device then propagates the one or more federated control-based signals to one or more grid-related devices.12-06-2012
20120310434VARIABLE TOPOLOGY DISTRIBUTED INTELLIGENCE FOR UTILITY GRID CONTROL OPERATION SERVICES - In one embodiment, a grid service controller receives advertisements from one or more grid service devices that indicate one or more grid control operations for which a corresponding grid service device is capable, and also maintains state and locality of the grid service devices. In response to receiving a request from a grid device for a particular grid control operation, the grid service controller may then direct the grid device to a particular grid service device capable of providing the particular grid control operation for the grid device based on the state and locality of the grid service devices, accordingly.12-06-2012
20120310435CONTROL COMMAND DISAGGREGATION AND DISTRIBUTION WITHIN A UTILITY GRID - In one embodiment, a grid controller device of a given locality within a utility grid receive a grid control command and determines a plurality of sub-localities controlled by the grid controller device and one or more grid characteristics of each of the plurality of sub-localities. 20120323381Security Measures for the Smart Grid - Security is enabled in an electrical system by examining a configuration file for a substation present in the electrical system, where the substation includes one or more electrical devices and one or more network devices. Based on the examination of the configuration file, information is determined on a characteristic of an electrical device that is selected from a group including a type, allowed role of the electrical device and allowed communication modes for the electrical device. Based on the determined information, a basis for controlling the role and communication modes for the electrical device is identified. A security policy is configured in a network device in the substation to incorporate the identified basis. 20130024149IDENTIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL GRID PHASE INFORMATION FOR END-POINTS IN A GRID NETWORK - In one embodiment, a requesting device (e.g., head-end application) requests a phase-related response from an end-point that does not know its phase in a polyphase power source system. In response, the requesting device receives the phase-related response from the end-point, where the response relays an identification of the end-point and related phase information without indicating an actual phase of the end-point, e.g., on which power-line is a response generated or at which time is a zero-crossing of the power source's waveform. 20100129487MASS-LESS BELT MANDREL - This invention provides a mandrel used to produce belts where materials are cured onto a belt. Specific examples for illustration purposes are directed to a mandrel used to produce fuser belts for use in electrophotographic marking systems. The mandrel provides for reduced heating temperature during the curing heating step because the only mass required to be heated during curing is the belt and not the prior art solid mandrel. This provides significant advantages, such as faster cycle time, less energy, and less degrading of layer materials. The present mandrel comprises two terminal caps connected by threaded rods around which the belt is positioned for coating and curing.05-27-2010

20160020898PRIVACY-PRESERVING RIDGE REGRESSION - A hybrid approach to privacy-preserving ridge regression is presented that uses both homomorphic encryption and Yao garbled circuits. Users in the system submit their data encrypted under a linearly homomorphic encryption. The linear homomorphism is used to carry out the first phase of the algorithm that requires only linear operations. The output of this phase generates encrypted data, in a form that is independent of the number of users n. In a second phase, a Yao garbled circuit that first implements homomorphic decryption and then does the rest of the regression algorithm (as shown, an optimized realization can avoid decryption in the garbled circuit) is evaluated. For this step a Yao garbled circuit approach is much faster than current fully homomorphic encryption schemes. Thus the best of both worlds is obtained by using linear homomorphisms to handle a large data set and using garbled circuits for the heavy non-linear part of the computation.01-21-2016

20150336150CRIMPING APPARATUS FOR CRIMPING PROSTHETIC VALVE WITH PROTRUDING ANCHORS - Embodiments of an apparatus, and a method for crimping expandable stents or prosthetic valves having a radially expandable and compressible annular body and one or more protruding anchors extending from the body using the apparatus, where the apparatus comprise a housing, a plurality of circumferentially arranged nesting jaws, and an actuator configured to move the jaws radially inwardly to reduce the size of the crimping aperture, thereby radially compressing the annular body of the prosthetic valve or stent. In particular embodiments, a selected set of the jaws, each having a front side and a recessed portion in its front side adjacent to its inner end. The recessed portions of the selected jaws collectively are sized and shaped to receive the one or more anchors of the prosthetic valve when the annular body is positioned within the crimping aperture.11-26-2015

20090095022THERMAL REFLOW OF GLASS AND FUSED SILICA BODY - Disclosed are synthetic silica glass body with a birefringence pattern having low fast axis direction randomness factor and glass reflow process. The glass reflow process comprises steps of: providing a glass tube having a notch; and thermally reflowing the glass tube to form a glass plate. The process can be advantageously used to produce fused silica glass plate without observable striae when viewed in the direction of optical axis. Also disclosed are optical members comprising the fused silica glass body and a process for reflowing glass cylinders.04-16-2009
20140355641ELECTROLESS NICKEL PLATING OF A HIGH TEMPERATURE POWER FEEDTHROUGH FOR CORROSION INHABITANCE - A method of making an electrode assembly for a furnace includes providing a heating element within the furnace. The method further includes providing a power feedthrough having an end portion that extends into the furnace to couple with the heating element. The power feedthrough includes a conductive member for transmitting electricity to the heating element. The method includes cleaning an exterior surface of the conductive member proximate the end portion of the power feedthrough. The method further includes a step of applying an electroless nickel plating to the exterior surface of the conductive member for preventing corrosion of the conductive member within the furnace. The method also includes connecting the end portion of the power feedthrough to the heating element.12-04-2014
