The coaxial cable includes an inner conductor, an insulating layer surrounding the inner conductor, and an outer conductor surrounding the insulating layer. The tool includes a body. The body includes an insertion portion configured to be inserted between the outer conductor and inner conductor where a section of the insulating layer has been cored out. The body also includes an opening defined in the insertion portion and configured to receive the inner conductor. The body further includes means for increasing the diameter of the outer conductor that surrounds the cored-out section.10-06-2011
20120021642PORT SEIZING CABLE CONNECTOR NUT AND ASSEMBLY - A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body having a first end and a second end, a coupling nut freely rotatable and disposed in relation to the first end of the connector body and a post having a first end and a second end, the post further including a open-ended port retaining portion. The coupling nut includes an internal threaded portion and is disposed in overlaying relation relative to the port retaining portion, which is configured for engaging an external port. The port retaining portion defines a locking collet that prevents loosening of the engaged port, while still guaranteeing electrical continuity without requiring excessive tightening of the connector.01-26-2012
20120028499ONE-PIECE COMPRESSION CONNECTOR BODY FOR COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR - A connector for mounting to the terminal end of a coaxial cable includes a connector body having a first body section and a second axially adjacent body section. The first and second body sections are frangibly connected to one another wherein axial compressive force upon the second body section towards the first body section causes the second body section to fracture and be displaced axially over the exterior of the first body section. As such, the second body section is a compression sleeve which when so moved radially compresses at least a portion of the first body section of the connector body to permit compression of a prepared coaxial cable end.02-02-2012
20120252264METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A SNAP RETAINED PUSH-ON CONNECTOR WITH PORT ADAPTER - A connector assembly includes a connector body and a tubular post having one end fitted in said connector body for securing a coaxial cable, the post including a basket portion at an opposite end. An adapter is further provided, the adapter having a set of internal threads for engaging the threads of an external interface port, said adapter further including a portion which is sized to engage within the interior of the basket portion of the tubular post.10-04-2012
20120252268SLIDE ACTUATED COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR - There is provided a coaxial cable connector for coupling an end of a coaxial cable to an outer diameter of a threaded interface port. The coaxial cable connector includes a connector body, a tubular inner post, and a sleeve member. The connector body has a first end, an opposing second end, and a bore therethrough. The inner post is disposed within the bore of the connector body, and includes a first end and a second end. The first end is adapted to engage the connector body so as to prevent relative axial movement with the connector body. The second end of the inner post is adapted to be inserted into the end of the coaxial cable. Either the first end of the connector body or the first end of the inner post includes a basket portion adapted to engage the threaded interface port. The basket portion includes an outer diameter, an inner diameter that is less than the outer diameter of the threaded interface port, and a relief element. The relief element is adapted to radially expand the outer diameter of the basket portion upon engaging the interface port. The sleeve member is disposed in overlaying relation to the basket portion, and includes an inner diameter that is less than the expanded outer diameter of the basket portion. The sleeve member is axially movable in relation to the basket portion from a first position to a second position to radially compress the basket portion.10-04-2012
20120270440COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR HAVING SLOTTED POST MEMBER - A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body and a post member disposed within the connector body. A coupling nut is threadingly attached to the post member wherein a flanged portion of the post member provides an axial biasing force with regard to an attached interface port. In one version, the flanged portion is slotted.10-25-2012
