20100293312 | Network Communications Processor Architecture - Described embodiments provide a system having a plurality of processor cores and common memory in direct communication with the cores. A source processing core communicates with a task destination core by generating a task message for the task destination core. The task source core transmits the task message directly to a receiving processing core adjacent to the task source core. If the receiving processing core is not the task destination core, the receiving processing core passes the task message unchanged to a processing core adjacent the receiving processing core. If the receiving processing core is the task destination core, the task destination core processes the message. | 11-18-2010 |
20100293345 | NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE WITH MEMORY LOAD BALANCING - Described embodiments provide a memory system including a plurality of addressable memory arrays. Data in the arrays is accessed by receiving a logical address of data in the addressable memory array and computing a hash value based on at least a part of the logical address. One of the addressable memory arrays is selected based on the hash value. Data in the selected addressable memory array is accessed using a physical address based on at least part of the logical address not used to compute the hash value. 20100293353 | TASK QUEUING IN A NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE - Described embodiments provide a method of assigning tasks to queues of a processing core. Tasks are assigned to a queue by sending, by a source processing core, a new task having a task identifier. A destination processing core receives the new task and determines whether another task having the same identifier exists in any of the queues corresponding to the destination processing core. If another task with the same identifier as the new task exists, the destination processing core assigns the new task to the queue containing a task with the same identifier as the new task. If no task with the same identifier as the new task exists in the queues, the destination processing core assigns the new task to the queue having the fewest tasks. The source processing core writes the new task to the assigned queue. The destination processing core executes the tasks in its queues. | 11-18-2010 |
20120002546 | MULTICASTING TRAFFIC MANAGER IN A NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE - Described embodiments provide a method of processing packets of a network processor. One or more tasks are generated corresponding to received packets associated with one or more data flows. A traffic manager receives a task corresponding to a data flow, the task provided by a processing module of the network processor. The traffic manager determines whether the received task corresponds to a unicast data flow or a multicast data flow. If the received task corresponds to a multicast data flow, the traffic manager determines, based on identifiers corresponding to the task, an address of launch data stored in launch data tables in a shared memory, and reads the launch data. Based on the identifiers and the read launch data, two or more output tasks are generated corresponding to the multicast data flow, and the two or more output tasks are added at the tail end of a scheduling queue. | 01-05-2012 |

20110289180 | DATA CACHING IN A NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE - Described embodiments provide for storing data in a local cache of one of a plurality of processing modules of a network processor. A control processing module determines presence of data stored in its local cache while concurrently sending a request to read the data from a shared memory and from one or more local caches corresponding to other of the plurality of processing modules. Each of the plurality of processing modules responds whether the data is located in one or more corresponding local caches. The control processing module determines, based on the responses, presence of the data in the local caches corresponding to the other processing modules. If the data is present in one of the local caches corresponding to one of the other processing modules, the control processing module reads the data from the local cache containing the data and cancels the read request to the shared memory. | 11-24-2011 |
20110289279 | DATA CACHING IN A NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE - Described embodiments provide a method of coherently storing data in a network processor having a plurality of processing modules and a shared memory. A control processor sends an atomic update request to a configuration controller. The atomic update request corresponds to data stored in the shared memory, the data also stored in a local pipeline cache corresponding to a client processing module. The configuration controller sends the atomic update request to the client processing modules. Each client processing module determines presence of an active access operation of a cache line in the local cache corresponding to the data of the atomic update request. If the active access operation of the cache line is absent, the client processing module writes the cache line from the local cache to shared memory, clears a valid indicator corresponding to the cache line and updates the data corresponding to the atomic update request. | 11-24-2011 |

20100288492 | Intelligent Debris Removal Tool - A debris removal tool uses a screen to separate the debris coming into the tool from the moving fluid. The fluid that gets through the screen then operates a flow sensing device that is preferably a turbine whose speed of rotation or other characteristics of its movement generates a signal that is picked up by the measurement while drilling tool and conveyed to the surface. The surface personnel first respond by turning off surface pumps to allow debris to fall by gravity off the clogged screen. If that fails, the tool is pulled through the well fluid inducing a reverse flow through the screen to get the debris blocking it to go back into the well through the debris removal tool inlet. | 11-18-2010 |

20110184567 | Systems and Methods for Analysis of Downhole Data - Systems and methods for analysis of data associated with fluid flow through a conduit and potential control of the fluid flow. In one embodiment, a method includes a data processing unit obtaining from a sensor a signal representing a series of measurements of a physical parameter associated with fluid flow through the conduit. The data processing unit performs singular spectral analysis of this signal and thereby identifies recurring, possibly non-sinusoidal patterns in the signal. The data processing unit may construct a second signal from some or all of the recurring patterns identified in the first signal. Alternatively, the data processing unit may identify recurring patterns in the signal which are indicative of corresponding conditions associated with the fluid flow through the conduit. The data processing unit may then initiate control functions responsive to the recurring patterns and associated conditions. | 07-28-2011 |
