20120093110 | RADIO LINK CONTROL RESET USING RADIO RESOURCE CONTROL SIGNALING - A method and apparatus are described for implementing a reset procedure for radio link control (RLC) using radio resource control (RRC) signaling. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives a request for RLC reset. A processor at the WTRU comprises a RRC entity and a RLC entity. The RRC entity receives the request for a RLC reset in a radio resource control message. The RLC entity reassembles RLC service data units (SDUs) from any protocol data units (PDUs) that are received out of sequence at a receiving side of the RLC entity. The reassembled SDUs are delivered in sequence to a packet data convergence protocol entity (PDCP). At the receiving side of the RLC entity, any remaining PDUs that are not able to be reassembled are discarded. At a transmitting side of the RLC entity, all SDUs and PDUs stored in transmit buffers are discarded. | 04-19-2012 |
20120275371 | CELL RESELECTION PROCESS FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS - A method of cell reselection in a wireless communications system where parameters are transmitted by the network in system information blocks to WTRU's on the network. Parameters are either added or subtracted from an equation representing the signal level and/or quality of a cell. Parameters may be prioritized. The results of the calculations are used to rank the servicing cell and neighboring cells. If a neighboring cell has a higher quality than the servicing cell, then the WTRU reselects the better cell. The network may transmit a blacklist of cells where the WTRU cannot camp as well as a barring timer for each cell where if the timer expires, the cell can again be considered for reselection. Information germane to the reselection decision may be transmitted and used by the network. | 11-01-2012 |
20130064224 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING A HANDOVER IN AN EVOLVED UNIVERSAL TERRESTRIAL RADIO ACCESS NETWORK - A method and an apparatus for performing a handover in an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) sends a measurement report to a source evolved Node B (eNB), and receives a handover command from the source eNB. The WTRU initiates reception and processing of a primary broadcast channel (P-BCH) at the target cell after receiving the handover command. The WTRU then sends a random access preamble to the target eNB, receives a random access response from the target eNB, and sends a handover complete message to the target eNB. The reception and processing of the P-BCH may be initiated immediately after receiving the handover command or after sending the handover complete message. The WTRU may apply default configuration or source cell configuration in the target cell until a target cell SFN and/or P-BCH information are acquired. | 03-14-2013 |
20130065594 | CELL SELECTION AND RESELECTION FOR CLOSED SUBSCRIBER GROUP CELLS - A method for cell selection including a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell is described, the method including receiving priority information or reselection information, storing the information at a wireless transmit/receive unit, and applying the priority information for cell selection. | 03-14-2013 |
20130067293 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST TRANSMISSION - A method and apparatus for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission are disclosed. If a packet has not been successfully transmitted, it is determined whether an HARQ early termination condition is met. If the HARQ early termination condition is met, the HARQ process is terminated and the packet is discarded at the HARQ level. The HARQ early termination condition is met if a positive acknowledgement (ACK) has not been received until the number of retransmissions reaches a predetermined limit that is dynamically configured based on channel condition, measurement, etc. Alternatively, the HARQ early termination condition is met if a transmit power required for successful transmission of the packet is much higher than an actual transmit power. Alternatively, the HARQ early termination condition is met if a transport format combination (TFC) selected for retransmission is different from an optimal TFC. A higher layer may be notified of the early HARQ termination. | 03-14-2013 |
20130070614 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DELIVERY NOTIFICATION OF NON-ACCESS STRATUM RETRANSMISSION - A method and apparatus for data delivery confirmation in a wireless/transmit receive unit (WTRU) including transmitting an uplink (UL) message, performing a mobility operation, determining that the UL message is not acknowledged, and generating a delivery failure message. The mobility operation is a handover or a radio resource control (RRC) connection reestablishment. A message including the delivery failure message is passed between protocol layers. | 03-21-2013 |
20130072161 | WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING HOME NODE-B IDENTIFICATION AND ACCESS RESTRICTION - A method and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), including a universal subscriber identity module (USIM), for identifying a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell are disclosed. The WTRU receives a broadcast from a cell including a cell identifier (ID). If the cell ID is associated with a CSG cell, the WTRU determines whether the CSG ID is programmed in the USIM. The cell broadcast may include a single bit information element (IE) indicating that the cell is a CSG cell. If the cell ID is a CSG ID, the cell ID may further include a plurality of fields which indicate at least one of a country, a region, an operator, and a home evolved Node-B (HeNB) number. The cell broadcast may further include a bit indicating whether the CSG cell is public or private. The cell broadcast may further include a bit indicating that emergency calls are allowed from all users. | 03-21-2013 |
20130095818 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LTE RADIO LINK FAILURE DETERMINIATION IN DRX MODE - A method and apparatus for detecting radio link failure (RLF) in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) includes the WTRU performing a series of radio link measurements during a discontinuous reception (DRX) on-duration, comparing each of the series of radio link measurements to a threshold, and determining that the series of radio link measurements indicates an out-of-synch condition. | 04-18-2013 |

A mobility state of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is determined and the TA is assigned based on the determined mobility state. Also disclosed is a method for accessing a closed subscriber group (CSG) TA. A CSG TA identifier is received at a WTRU and is stored. A CSG TA broadcast is received and the broadcast CSG TA is accessed if an identifier of the broadcast CSG TA matches the stored CSG TA identifier. Also disclosed is a method for changing a mobility state of a WTRU. A current mobility state of the WTRU is determined and a predetermined metric of the WTRU is examined.
