20080232487 | Synchronous spectrum sharing by dedicated networks using OFDM/OFDMA signaling - A system and method for synchronous spectrum sharing for a dedicated network in a wireless communication system based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) or orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) signaling is disclosed. The system and method includes detecting a frame of a broadcast waveform and extracting idle spectrum information from a subframe associated with the dedicated subchannel to the secondary user node. The system allows transmitting data from the secondary user node in unused symbol slots identified in the idle spectrum information thereby making efficient use of unused or idle spectrum. Accordingly, secondary users of the wireless communication system can dynamically form ad-hoc mesh network communications in fixed or mobile scenarios. | 09-25-2008 |
20100034179 | Legacy mobile station support on sip-based Femto device - A Femto network capable of relaying wireless communications is provided. The Femto network includes a Femto Access Point (FAP) and an MSC Femto Interworking Function (MFIF). The FAP and the MFIF each include a modified XML schema. The FAP modified XML schema is configured to include subscriber station identification information in a Presence Information Data Format Location (PIDF-LO) signal. The FAP is configured to transmit said the PIDF-LO via session initiation protocol. The MFIF XML schema is configured to interpret the PIDF-LO signal and extract the subscriber station identification information from said PIDF-LO signal. The MFIF is configured to send said messages and said subscriber station information to a mobile switching center (MSC). | 02-11-2010 |
20100105395 | Method for the cell ID selection for femtocell basestation - A method for selecting a Cell ID for a base station is provided. The base station may be a Femto base station. The method includes obtaining a neighbor Cell ID corresponding to at least one of a plurality of neighboring base stations. The method also includes selecting a new Cell ID, where the new Cell ID is different than the neighbor Cell ID. The method further includes broadcasting a message containing the new Cell ID. Further, the method includes assigning the new Cell ID to the base station. | 04-29-2010 |
20100235541 | Indirect mobile codes with flexible formats - A method of operating a code clearing house is provided. The method comprises receiving an indirect mobile code from a mobile code client. The indirect mobile code comprises a length field, a routing prefix, and an identification code. The method further comprises determining the routing prefix in the indirect mobile code using the length field. | 09-16-2010 |

20080219286 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTENTION RESOLUTION IN TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORKS - A method and system for contention resolution in a communications network are disclosed. As one example, a method for contention resolution in a communications network is disclosed. The method includes the steps of transmitting a first contention message during a first time interval, determining if a second contention message has been received during the first time interval, if the second contention message has been received during the first time interval, deferring a use of a network resource in the communications network, and if the second contention message has not been received during the first time interval, using the network resource during a second time interval. | 09-11-2008 |
20090052418 | IAS-based configuration for UMB femto devices - A method and apparatus for configuring Femto Devices in an Ultra Mobile Broadband network system. A Femto Device transmits a Femto pilot signal to an Access Terminal, which is served by a plurality of base stations in the Ultra Mobile Broadband network system. The Access Terminal then transmits to the Femto Device an identifier of a base station that controls a macrocell where the Femto Device is located. Next, a Neighbor Discovery Request message is transmitted from the Femto Device to the base station in dependence upon the received identifier of the base station. In response to the Neighbor Discovery Request message received, a Neighbor Discovery Report message is transmitted from the base station to the Femto device. The Neighbor Discovery Report message includes a field indicating network addresses of a Session Reference Network Controller and an Access Gateway that connect to the base station. Finally, the Femto Device connects to the Session Reference Network Controller and the Access Gateway via the Femto device in dependence upon the network addresses of the Session Reference Network Controller and the Access Gateway. | 02-26-2009 |
20090196253 | Location based femtocell device configuration and handoff - Methods and apparatus for configuring femtocell devices for performing handoffs in a communication system. The communication system is provided with a plurality of macrocell base stations, a femtocell device, a wireless softswitch and a mobile node. In the communication system, each macrocell base station serves a macro cell, and the femtocell device serves a femto cell and is disposed in one of the plurality of macro cells. The wireless softswitch is communicatively connected with the plurality of macrocell base stations and the femtocell device, and stores geographic coverage area information for each of the plurality of macrocell base stations. The mobile node is originally disposed within the femto cell and moves out of the femto cell. The mobile node transmits a registration message to the femtocell device. The femtocell device forwards the registration message and geographical location information for the femtocell device to the wireless softswitch. The wireless softswitch determines which one of the plurality of macrocell base stations covers the macro cell where the femtocell device is disposed, in dependence upon the received geographical location information for the femtocell device and the stored geographic coverage area information for each of the plurality of macrocell base stations. Then, the wireless softswitch forwards the registration message to the macrocell base station determined. | 08-06-2009 |
