20140032332 | PROMOTING PRODUCTS ON A SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM BASED ON INFORMATION FROM A MERCHANT SITE - To promote a merchant's products on a social networking system, a promotion engine receives data from a merchant site regarding the merchant site's users' activities. The users' purchases of a promoted product are correlated with the user's activities performed in connection with a related product. An automated process running on a computer system then determines promotion criteria for the promoted product, based at least in part on the activities performed in connection with the related product. A promotion for the promoted product is generated and communicated to a social networking system, which displays the promotion to one or more users of the social networking system based on the determined promotion criteria. | 01-30-2014 |
20150058119 | Automated Advertisement of Products on Online Sites - A promotion engine retrieves information associated with a merchant's inventory for online sites. The promotion engine uses the retrieved information to identify products to promote on an online site. An advertisement campaign is generated for the merchant by the promotion engine to promote the products and the promotion engine also purchases advertising placements associated with the online site. Advertisement content of the advertisement campaign is sent to the online site by the promotion engine and the advertisement campaign is maintained by the promotion engine for the merchant. | 02-26-2015 |

20140212000 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING TRACKER SYSTEM - The present invention relates to the field of computation and simulation and covers methods to optimize the fiducial marker positions in optical object tracking systems, by simulating the visibility. The method for optimizing tracker system which is realized to simulate camera and fiducial positions and pose estimation algorithm parameters to optimize the system comprises the steps of; acquire mesh data representing possible active marker positions and orientations on a tracked object, pose data representing possible poses of tracked object, camera positions and orientations; compute visibility of each node from all camera viewports and generate a visibility value list; select the node with highest visibility count as a marker placement node; remove nodes closer to the selected node than a threshold; remove the pose(s) having a predetermined number of selected nodes; does percentage of all poses have predetermined number of selected nodes?; project selected node positions on the image plane of each camera viewport and calculate the pose of the mesh using the tracker algorithm to be optimized; calculate pose error and pose coverage by comparing algorithm results with initial data; record and output results; and select among the results a parameter set satisfying at least one constraint. | 07-31-2014 |

20150177760 | Method and System for Gain Boosting in Linear Regulators - A method and a system for increasing the open loop gain of linear regulators is presented. A linear regulator configured to derive an output voltage from an input voltage is described. The linear regulator comprises an amplifier configured to derive an amplifier output signal from an amplifier input signal, and a pass device configured to convert the amplifier output signal into the output voltage. The linear regulator comprises a positive feedback loop using a positive feedback gain γ, and a negative feedback loop using a negative feedback gain β. In addition, the linear regulator comprises a combining unit configured to determine the amplifier input signal from the input voltage, from the positive feedback signal and from the negative feedback voltage. A transfer function of the linear regulator exhibits a first and a second pole at a first frequency wp1 and at a second frequency wp2, respectively. | 06-25-2015 |
20150357914 | Method for a Current Mode Buck-Boost Converter - A current mode control buck-boost converter with improved performance utilizes separate buck and boost pulses. The buck-boost converter utilizes a buck/boost decision method with continuous control voltage for buck and boost mode, therefore eliminating transients in the control loop between operation modes and preventing voltage overshoots. If switching in Boost mode and the buck duty cycle is smaller than a set duty cycle, then in the next cycle Buck mode switching will occur. It is possible to track a Buck comparator output and the related duty cycle during Boost mode operation. Thus a mode change decision will only be dependent on a single input. A control loop will incorporate a single loop filter and error amplifier, wherein control voltages for Buck comparator and Boost comparator will be related. | 12-10-2015 |

20150053266 | Internally-Heated Thermal and Externally-Cool Photovoltaic Cascade Solar Energy System for Full Solar Spectrum Utilization - A single-stack, solar power receiver comprising both a thermal absorber layer and a photovoltaic cell layer. The stack includes an aerogel layer, that is optically transparent and thermally insulating (“OTTI”); a spectrally selective high thermal conductivity (“SSTC”) thermal absorber layer; a bottom OTTI layer; and a PV cell layer. The SSTC layer includes a set of fins that substantially blocks solar radiation absorption in the band where PV cells are most sensitive. Photons with energies above or below this band block range are absorbed by the fins and the absorbed heat is conducted to pipes in the fin structure carrying a heated thermal working fluid to heat storage. Photons with energy in the band block range are reflected by the SSTC fins to the PV cell layer. The bottom OTTI aerogel layer keeps the PV cell operating near ambient temperature. The PV cell converts incident solar radiation to electrical energy. | 02-26-2015 |
