20100034483Cut-line steering methods for forming a mosaic image of a geographical area - A method for automatically steering mosaic cut lines along preferred routes to form an output mosaic image includes the step of creating an assignment map corresponding to the output mosaic image where each pixel has an initial designation of unassigned. Then, each pixel of the assignment map that intersects the preferred routes is marked as being a Preferred Cut Line pixel to divide the Assignment Map into one or more regions. For each region, a search is conducted to locate one or more source images that completely cover that region. If multiple source images completely covering the region are located, the method uses a Selection Heuristic to determine quality of coverage, and then designates each pixel in that region as being assigned to the source image determined to be best by the Selection Heuristic. For any remaining unassigned regions, the method searches for two or more source images whose combined footprint completely covers the region, and for each set of two or more combined images, a Pairing Heuristic is used for determining quality of coverage. Each pixel in the region is designated as being assigned to the two or more combined images determined best by the Pairing Heuristic. Then, the Preferred Cut Line pixels are redesignated to match the image assignments of their bounded regions, and the output mosaic image is formed by contributing pixel values from the source images based upon the designations set forth in the assignment map.02-11-2010

20090169777RECORDING ELEMENT FOR AQUEOUS INKS - The present invention is directed to an image-recording medium comprising a paper support and, coated on one side of the support, in order: a lower ink-receiving layer, an upper gloss layer and, coated on the opposite side of the support, an inner layer comprising at least 75% by weight of fine inorganic particles and a binder, and an outer layer substantially consisting of a polymeric material. Another aspect of the present invention relates to an inkjet printing process.07-02-2009
20100026773INKJET RECORDING MEDIA WITH CATIONICALLY-MODIFIED CLAY PARTICLES - An inkjet printing system, comprises an inkjet printer, an ink composition, and an inkjet recording media comprising a support, and coated on the support in order from the support, a porous base layer, a porous intermediate layer, and a porous uppermost layer, each with particular limitations. The inkjet recording media and printer system is manufacturable using low-cost materials in an efficient process requiring only a single coating and drying step and that gives images with excellent gloss, color density and image quality.02-04-2010

20110003154ENCAPSULATED MORDANT PARTICLE DISPERSION AND METHOD OF PREPARING - The present invention discloses a method of making core-shell polymer particles, comprising forming a linking-group-containing polymer by derivatizing a hydroxy-group-containing polymer, comprising hydroxy groups on adjacent carbon atoms with a linking agent, that is a compound comprising both an aldehyde moiety and an amine moiety, wherein one or more acetal moieties are formed in the linking-group-containing polymer, each acetal formed by the reaction of the aldehyde moiety in the linking agent with two hydroxy groups in the linking-group-containing polymer, wherein the amine moiety then becomes a linking group pendent from the linking-group-containing polymer, wherein the linking group is capable of reacting with a precursor group in the precursor polymer. Also disclosed are compositions comprising insoluble core-shell particles made by the method.01-06-2011
