20140174274 | MOVING SHEAR RAIL - A sawmill including a band saw, mounted on a carriage. A moving shear rail is connected to the carriage such that the shear rail moves in synchronization with the band saw. The moving shear rail has a notch formed in the upper edge, and is positioned so that the notch is aligned with the band saw blade, and the upper edge of the moving shear rail extends at least to even with the band saw blade, and possibly even beyond the saw blade. The moving shear rail includes a shear rail plate carrying the notch, and a flexible element connected at each end of the shear rail plate. The flexible element is formed of conveyor links reeved about a pair of reels, including a last link that is removably connected to the shear rail plate. Each of the reels is mounted to a standard, one having a pivot, allowing that reel to be pivoted away. | 06-26-2014 |

20140023431 | Apparatus for Joining Members and Assembly Thereof - An apparatus for joining a first member and a second member includes means for joining the first member and the second member, means for transferring shear loads between the first member and the second member separate from the means for joining the first member and the second member, and means for providing a compression preload to the means for transferring shear loads between the first member and the second member. An assembly includes a first member, a second member, and means for joining the first member and the second member. The assembly further includes means for transferring shear loads between the first member and the second member separate from the means for joining the first member and the second member and means for providing a compression preload to the means for transferring shear loads between the first member and the second member. | 01-23-2014 |

20150020617 | Sprocket-Driven Door - Where access doors are used for pets, poultry, farm animals, traps, or human access, this invention describes a drive mechanism for moving the door. The access door panel could be applied to a cage, house, coop, trap, feed receptacle, or other application. The drive mechanism of the automatic door is described here as a sprocket that directly engages with the movable door panel. Manufacture of the sprocket and door panel is such that can be punched from raw sheet metal and not requiring precision milling processes. The function provides opening and closing by sliding or swiveling the door panel. Holding the door panel in place is an important additional function of the direct drive mechanism of this invention. | 01-22-2015 |

20080218881 | COMPACT SPOTTING SCOPE WITH SIDE FOCUS CONTROL - A compact spotting scope includes a housing with an outer surface having a grasping region sized and shaped to fit in a user's hand. An optical element positioned within the housing is adjusted by manually rotating a side-mounted adjustment knob that extends laterally from the outer surface of the housing opposite the grasping region. The side-mounted position of the adjustment knob allows the arm and wrist of the focusing hand to be maintained in an ergonomic position during manipulation of the adjustment knob, thereby further facilitating steady support. An internal support member of the spotting scope includes a frame portion and a generally tubular portion, which are preferably formed together of unitary one-piece construction for aligning optical elements of the spotting scope. | 09-11-2008 |
