20090222381 | PROCESS OF AND SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING CHECK PROCESSING AT POINT OF SALE AND ACCELERATED CREDIT FOR CHECK TRANSACTIONS - Process of and system for providing credit to a retailer by collecting checks from customers during financial transactions between the customers and the retailer, depositing by the retailer the collected checks into a safe located at the retailer facility, calculating the total monetary value of the checks that are deposited into the safe, and electronically transmitting a data file that identifies the calculated total monetary value of the deposited checks. Using the information in the transmitted data file, the retailer is credited by a bank or other financial institute with the total monetary value of the deposited checks. Crediting may be provided on a business day basis, and other features include imaging of the deposited checks, facilitating check processing using the image files of the checks, displaying the imaged checks on a display at the retailer during the financial transaction, depositing the checks into the same safe into which cash collected by the retailer is deposited, providing the checks within the safe in sealed cassettes, and printing an image of a collected check on a receipt that is provided to the customer. Other features also are described. The process and system advantageously make funds readily available and improves cash flow to retailers who take-in checks as part of their normal business operations. | 09-03-2009 |

20150097073 | Self Scavenging Gear Shield - A gearbox assembly includes a gearbox housing and a gear located in the housing and rotatable about a central axis. One or more gear shields are fixed in the housing and at least partially surround the gear. The one or more gear shields define a cavity between the gear and the one or more gear shields. The one or more gear shields are configured such that a pumping action is created by the gear rotation to direct gearbox lubricant out of the cavity. A method of scavenging lubricant from a gearbox includes pumping a flow of lubricant circumferentially around a cavity defined between a gear and a gear shield at least partially surrounding the gear via rotation of the gear about a central axis. The flow of lubricant is urged from the cavity into a lubricant outlet. The lubricant is urged through a lubricant channel in an axial direction. | 04-09-2015 |

20090287642 | Automated Analysis and Summarization of Comments in Survey Response Data - Technologies are described herein for providing automated analysis and summarization of free-form comments in survey response data. A number of topic words are identified from the survey response comments, and a numeric weight is calculated for each topic word that reflects the relevance of the topic word to each comment. Each topic word is associated with one or more topics and the comments relevant to each topic is then determined based on the weights of the associated topic words in each comment. A report is generated which summarizes the topics and their relative importance in the survey response comments based upon the number of comments relevant to each. | 11-19-2009 |
20130079972 | MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USE IN ANALYZING MAINTENANCE DATA - Methods and maintenance systems for use in analyzing data related to maintenance of at least one vehicle are disclosed. One example method includes receiving at least one fault message, receiving a maintenance event log for a vehicle. The maintenance event log including at least one maintenance event associated with the at least one fault message. The example method further includes automatically identifying a corrective action within a most recent maintenance event of the at least one maintenance event and storing a diagnostic entry including the at least one fault message and the identified corrective action, such that the diagnostic entry is retrievable from the computing device to evaluate a subsequent like fault message. | 03-28-2013 |
20140122586 | DETERMINATION OF LATENT INTERACTIONS IN SOCIAL NETWORKS - A method including processing social network data to establish a tensor model of the social network data, the tensor model having at least an order of four. The tensor model is decomposed into a plurality of principal factors. A summary tensor is synthesized from a subset of the plurality of principal factors. The summary tensor represents a plurality of relationships among a plurality of entities in the tensor model. A synthesis of relationships is formed and stored. At least one parameter is identified using one of the summary tensor and a single principal factor in the subset. The at least one parameter is selected from the group consisting of: a correlation among the plurality of entities, a similarity between two of the plurality of entities, and a time-based trend of changes in the synthesis of relationships. The at least one parameter is communicated. | 05-01-2014 |

20130120741 | CHEMICAL AND MOLECULAR IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTIFICATION SYSTEM UTILIZING ENHANCED PHOTOEMISSION SPECTROSCOPY - An enhanced photoemission spectroscopy (EPS) system uses at least three photoelectric detection processes to identify a substance or substances in a target. The target can be in a container, and the EPS system accounts for this in the identification process. The photoelectric detection processes include Raman scattering, fluorescence and spectral reflection. The EPS system uses all three processes to generate spectral data that is then combined to derive a target signature. The target signature is then compared to stored signature data to determine the substance or substances in the target. | 05-16-2013 |

20080319795 | System and methods for detection and identification of chemical substances - The invention provides a system and methods for centralized collection and verification of controlled substance/pharmaceutical waste. The invention provides a system and methods that replace the witness's co-signature with a process of centralized pharmacy controlled substance validation. In this process, the administering health care practitioner or nurse will give the medication to the patient and return the wasted portion of the dose to a secured storage area for a centralized pharmacy to pickup. The collected doses are then validated at the centralized pharmacy. Validation can include determining the composition, concentration, amount and type of drug. | 12-25-2008 |
