The constant velocity coupling additionally comprises an output shaft having a second wave surface thereupon, wherein the second wave surface comprises mounds and valleys. The constant velocity coupling additionally comprises a housing substantially enclosing the first wave surface and second wave surface, wherein rotational force exerted upon the input shaft is translated through the lobes of the first wave surface to the lobes of the second wave surface and to the output shaft in turn, and wherein the first wave surface and second wave surface transmit rotational force therebetween through any range of angles to a maximum output angle between a rotational axis of the input shaft relative to a rotational axis of the output axis.03-17-2011
20110133410HYDRODYNAMIC BORE SEAL - The disclosed finger seals are designed to be operational under rotational velocity or a stationary condition. The contact surface of the finger seals is inclined in an axial direction. This incline causes a convergent leakage path between the finger foot surface and the bore. Therefore, the leakage flow passing through this gap exerts hydrodynamic lift on the finger and lifts the finger from the bore surface at design pressure. Since the slope is in the axial direction, the rotational velocity of the bore does not affect the hydrodynamic lift and the finger seals can operate at any rotational speed, unlike prior finger seal where the hydrodynamic lift is generated by rotational velocity.06-09-2011

20150056924POST-ACCIDENT NETWORK PROBE AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME - A post-accident network probe and a method of using such a probe are disclosed. The probe is configured to be deployed in a confined environment (e.g. an underground mine), typically after an accident has occurred, in order to establish a connection with the wireless network, or a portion thereof, located therein. The probe generally allows the rescuers to determine the position of potentially trapped miners and can allow the rescuers to have access to environment-related information collected by the network, to get vital signs information, and/or to communicate with the trapped miners. The probe can be deployed using different access methods such as bore holes (existing or new), ventilation shafts, preventive installations of probes, etc. Notably, since the probe establishes a connection with the network, the location of the probe does not have to be exactly where the miners are located as long as the miners are tracked by the network.02-26-2015

20130186242Fire Sprinkler Head Shut-Off Tool With Fusible Release Mechanism - The disclosed invention relates to a fire sprinkler shut-off tool for stopping water flow from an activated fire sprinkler head. Due to the lack of any automatic safety release mechanisms, such tools currently on market suffer the disadvantage of requiring constant monitoring in case fire rekindles. The shut-off tool comprising a pair of adjustable clamping arms and an actuator assembly for adjusting and fixing the clamping arms addresses the safety issue by integrating a fusible link locking tab into the actuator assembly. The presence of a nearby fire melts and separates the locking tab thereby releasing the clamping arms from an activated fire sprinkler head. The shut-off tool also addresses the safety problem of firemen or building maintenance personnel using a shut-off device that requires two hands while working from a ladder as this device can be easily used with one hand. The shut-off tool also achieves the object of universal fit on most fire sprinkler heads by use of the adjustable angled clamping arms and by locating a sealing surface on each of the clamping arms so as to permit operation with fire sprinklers mounted in an upright position.07-25-2013

20130130664SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MODIFYING COMMUNICATIONS POLICY SETTINGS IN A WIRELESS NETWORK - The present invention provides a system and method of modifying policy settings in a network having a plurality of subscriber devices. An embodiment includes a plurality of base stations, each capable of wirelessly transmitting across a geographic region. A cell-phone, capable of roaming between regions is operable to establish a wireless link with the base stations. The network contains a communication policy determining from which other communication devices a subscriber device can receive voice calls. A copy of this policy is stored on each subscriber device as a database and periodically updated as the devices make contact with the base stations or other subscriber devices. When receiving a voice call, the device first determines who the originator of the call is and then determines whether it is allowed to receive the call from that originator according to its policy database. The policy database can be updated either by subscriber devices or by base stations.05-23-2013

20120173591Settlement House Data Management System - A method, social services data management system, and computer program product for managing data about social services. In response to receiving the data about the social services provided to a group of clients at a data collection application running on a computer system, the data collection application running on the computer system places the data into a first database in a first format using a content model identifying entities for the social services and relationships between the entities. The computer system changes the data in the first database from the first format to a second format used by a second database. The computer system moves the data in the second format to the second database. A report application running on the computer system generates a number of reports using the data in the second format in the second database.07-05-2012

20100233315FERMENTATION BYPRODUCT FEED FORMULATION AND PROCESSING - Systems and methods are provided which produce an improved distillers, brewers or fermenters grain by-products, including solubles, by determining nutrients and nutrient amounts to be added to a by-product to achieve targeted nutritional values, including bypass protein and amino acid levels, of the nutritionally enhanced grain byproduct after processing. One or more crude protein and/or amino acid content nutrient sources are added to the byproduct to create a nutritionally enhanced by-product mixture. The temperature and/or moisture content of the nutritionally enhanced by-product mixture is adjusted based on an empirically derived relationship that relates RUP as a percent of crude protein to an end product temperature in a predictable and repeatable manner to produce the improved distillers, brewers or fermenters grain byproduct. The products, having enhanced nutrient values of which are predictably ascertained, are made by the disclosed systems and methods.09-16-2010
