20120096975 | SAFETY TRIGGER MECHANISM AND FUNCTIONAL FRAME FOR MOTION FURNITURE - The present invention discloses a safety trigger mechanism and functional frame for motion furniture for driving a drive mechanism of motion furniture. The safety trigger mechanism includes a mounting board, and a pull wire, a fork and a first restoring spring connected in turn. The fork is mounted turnably about a first rivet on the mounting board by the first rivet, and a bent hook is disposed on one end of the fork and interlocked with a driving arm of the drive mechanism. The safety trigger mechanism further includes a safety hook with a notch, which is mounted turnably about a second rivet on the mounting board by the second rivet. One side edge of the safety hook abuts against the bent hook of the fork, and the driving aim has an arresting pin disposed thereon. The initial position of the arresting pin is in the notch of the safety hook, and the arresting pin is detached from the notch of the safety hook when the safety hook turns clockwise. Since the arresting pin of the driving arm is hooked by the safety hook to ensure that the drive mechanism cannot be unfolded, the present invention has more safety. Even if a large external force acts on the driving arm, the drive mechanism won't unfold itself. | 04-26-2012 |

20110290201 | HYDROGEN SUPPLEMENTAL SYSTEM FOR ON-DEMAND HYDROGEN GENERATION FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES - A portable, on-demand hydrogen generation system is provided for producing hydrogen and injecting the hydrogen as a fuel supplement into the air intake of internal combustion engines, more particularly to vehicles. Hydrogen and oxygen is produced with a fuel cell at low temperatures and pressure from water in a supply tank. The hydrogen and oxygen is passed back thru the supply tank for distribution and water preservation. The gases are kept separate by a divider in the tank and the water level in the tank. In the case of gasoline engines, the hydrogen is directed to the air intake of the engine while the oxygen is vented to the atmosphere. The device is optionally powered by the vehicle battery, a stand alone battery, waste heat of the internal combustion engine or solar energy. The system utilizes a vacuum switch or other engine sensor that permits power to the device and therefore hydrogen production only when the engine is in operation. Therefore, as the hydrogen is produced it is immediately consumed by the engine. No hydrogen is stored on, in or around the vehicle. | 12-01-2011 |

20110297620 | METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONVERTING HORIZONTAL TANKS INTO GAS FLOTATION SEPARATORS - A gas flotation separator for use in horizontal tanks, such as those used for oil storage on board Floating Production Storage and Off-loading (FPSO) vessels, includes dividing the tank into a plurality of chambers operating in series. Prior to entering each chamber, the contaminated aqueous phase is mixed with a stream containing gas bubbles to aid in flocculation and flotation of the immiscible phase contaminant. The gas bubble recycle stream can be generated by injecting a controlled rate of a pressurized gas into a liquid stream of the clean produced water in a process external to the tank or by induction of a gas phase internal to the tank. The mixture flows into the first chamber and impinges on an angled inlet water weir. A portion of the immiscible phase and the gas phase rises to the top of the chamber while the remaining immiscible contaminants flow downward with the aqueous phase to the bottom of the chamber. The aqueous phase makes a 180° turn upward by entering a plurality of parallel flow conduits formed into the wall of the baffle that separates the each series chamber. In each parallel duct a second gas bubble stream is injected to further aid in flocculation and flotation of the immiscible contaminants. The aqueous phase remixes at the top of the second chamber where it impinges on a second angled weir. This process is repeated in each series chamber until the last chamber where the cleaned water is pumped out of the chamber via a liquid pump. Varying the rate of water removal there from controls the water level in last chamber. The flocculated and floating oil contaminant can be removed by either 1) periodic skimming into an over-flow weir by raising the water level in the chamber, or 2) a continuously rotating paddle or brush object that lifts or carries the floating oil layer away from the water surface and transfers it to a collector system. | 12-08-2011 |

20090075272 | Method to Identify CD40-Sensitive Cells Using Gene Expression - Gene expression patterns were analyzed in CD40-sensitive and CD40-resistant diffuse large-cell B-lymphoma (DLCBL) cell lines to identify signaling pathways which are involved in CD40-mediated apoptosis. CD40-resistant lines expressed pre-B cell markers including RAG and VPREB, whereas CD40-sensitive cells resembled mature B-cells and expressed higher levels of transcripts encoding several members of the CD40 signaling pathway including LCK and VAV. In addition, CD40 sensitive DLCBL cell lines also displayed constitutive activation of ERK and failed to undergo apoptosis when ERK phosphorylation was inhibited. In contrast, CD40 resistant lines showed no constitutive activation of ERK and no increase in ERK activity in response to CD40 stimulation. The invention includes methods to differentiate between CD40-sensitive and CD-40 resistant cells based on these differences in gene expression. | 03-19-2009 |

20120010684 | POWER SUPPLY FOR LIGHT-BASED DERMATOLOGIC TREATMENT DEVICE - Switching power supplies made in accordance with the disclosed technology drive flash lamps of dermatologic treatment devices to emit a sequence of relatively small light pulses that are aligned with particular locations within the waveform of the AC line source. Such power supplies not only enable sufficient light energy in aggregate to therapeutically heat target chromophores in a skin region without causing undesired damage to surrounding tissue, but also provide the added benefit that the corresponding electrical energy need not be substantially drawn from any charged capacitor. The disclosed power supply further compensates for performance degradation of the flash lamps during their usable life, by modifying its operation based on predetermined values that are indicative of flash lamp aging/efficiency characteristics. The flash lamps and their associated stored values are preferably incorporated into a replaceable cartridge that facilitates user maintenance of the dermatologic treatment device. | 01-12-2012 |

20120156116 | Process For Metal Recovery From Catalyst Waste - A method for recovering rare earth metals from zeolite-containing waste FCC catalysts comprises an acid leaching step to remove the rare earth metals from the catalyst to form a leachate containing dissolved rare earth metals and separating the rare earth metals from the leachate such as by precipitation. | 06-21-2012 |
20130129613 | Process for Ion Exchange on Zeolites - Aspects of the present invention relate to an improved process for exchanging sodium ions in zeolites comprising sodium ions and rare earth metal ions for ammonium ions. For this exchange, aqueous solutions of ammonium salts, for example ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate or ammonium chloride, are currently being used. The resulting “ammonium zeolites” are calcined to convert them, with release of ammonia, to the H form of the zeolites suitable as a catalyst. The use of ammonium carbonate also minimizes the amount of rare earth metal ions which are leached out of the zeolites comprising rare earth metal ions. | 05-23-2013 |
