20090068951 | Spectrum-Blind Sampling And Reconstruction Of Multi-Band Signals - A signal processing method includes sampling an analog signal, which has a spectral density defining one or more bands, to produce a digitized signal. A spectral transform of the digitized signal is expressed as a matrix multiplied by a vector, wherein the vector includes multiple elements that represent the spectral density of the analog signal as a function of frequency within respective spectral slices. Indices of a subset of the elements of the vector, in which the spectral density is concentrated, is determined. The analog signal is reconstructed from the digitized signal using the subset of the elements of the vector and a corresponding subset of columns of the matrix having the indices. | 03-12-2009 |
20110294453 | EFFICIENT SAMPLING AND RECONSTRUCTION OF SPARSE MULTI-BAND SIGNALS - A method for signal processing includes distributing an analog input signal to a plurality of processing channels. In each processing channel, the input signal is mixed with a respective periodic waveform including multiple spectral lines, so as to produce a respective baseband signal in which multiple spectral slices of the input signal are superimposed on one another. The baseband signal produced in each of the processing channels is digitized, to produce a set of digital sample sequences that represent the input signal. | 12-01-2011 |

20090088823 | VACUUM ASSISTED TREATMENT OF THE SKIN - An apparatus for treating skin includes a chamber defined by a surface and a rim extending from the surface. A source of vacuum is capable of removing air from inside the chamber so that air outside the chamber flows into the chamber. Impedance of the air flowing between the rim of the chamber positioned adjacent the skin surface causes the pressure inside the chamber to decrease relative to ambient. A pressure sensor can determine when the pressure inside the chamber decreases to a threshold value. A controller can receive a signal from the pressure sensor when the threshold value is reached, which causes the rate of removal of the air from inside the chamber by the source of vacuum to be increased. The rim of the chamber forms a substantially fluid tight seal with the skin. The skin is drawn toward an inner surface of the chamber. | 04-02-2009 |
