20160092221 | DEPENDENCY-PREDICTION OF INSTRUCTIONS - Systems and methods for dependency-prediction include executing instructions in an instruction pipeline of a processor and detecting a conditionality-imposing control instruction, such as an If-Then (IT) instruction, which imposes dependent behavior on a conditionality block size of one or more dependent instructions. Prior to executing a first instruction, a dependency-prediction is made to determine if the first instruction is a dependent instruction of the conditionality-imposing control instruction, based on the conditionality block size and one or more parameters of the instruction pipeline. The first instruction is executed based on the dependency-prediction. When the first instruction is dependency-mispredicted, an associated dependency-misprediction penalty is mitigated. If the first instruction is a branch instruction, the mitigation involves training a branch prediction tracking mechanism to correctly dependency-predict future occurrences of the first instruction. | 03-31-2016 |

20080221502 | Absorbent Tampon Providing Clean Digital Insertion - A tampon has a generally uniform fiber distribution along its length, an insertion end, a withdrawal end, and a longitudinal axis. A finger recess having a depth of at least about 5 mm is formed into the withdrawal end. Nonetheless, a column strength of at least about 10 Newtons (N) can still be achieved. The tampon can be formed by winding an absorbent fibrous web around a winding mandrel; transferring the blank into a press; inserting a forming mandrel into one end of a tampon blank while the tampon blank is positioned in the press; moving a plurality of press jaws toward a central longitudinal press axis to compress the tampon blank and to form a compressed tampon having a finger recess formed into the one end of the tampon; and ejecting the compressed tampon from the press. | 09-11-2008 |

20140163663 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SWITCHING SHOCK VECTORS AND DECREASING TRANSTHORACIC IMPEDANCE FOR CARDIOVERSION AND DEFIBRILLATION - A method and system for improving the effectiveness of cardioversion or defibrillation through the ability to switch shock vectors and to reduce transthoracic impedance. A “shock vector” or “shocking vector” is herein defined as the path and direction which electrical current follows in traversing a patient body cavity between two external adhesive electrode patches. An external multiple patch system comprises at least two options for a shocking vector once external patches are applied and adhered to desired locations on a patient's body. A manual switching mechanism in the system provides the ability to direct current from a defibrillator to either of two or more specified shocking vectors. A method and system of decreasing transthoracic impedance comprises wrapping material around a patient's body to apply pressure to adhered patches. This mechanism further reduces transthoracic impedance by increasing effective pressure on the patches through use of pressure-focusing mechanisms located between a patch and a strap. An integrated mechanism would provide qualitative and/or quantitative feedback on the force being applied to the desired patches. | 06-12-2014 |
20150217121 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR A WEARABLE DEFIBRILLATOR - A method and system for an improved wearable defibrillator specifically optimized for patient comfort and compliance. The system is capable of sensing information about the patient, determining whether the patient is experiencing a life-threatening arrhythmia, and if so, deliver life-saving defibrillation. The system is specifically designed, constructed, and configured to allow for minimal weight on the shoulders and its associated lumbar spine compression when standing and minimal pressure on the abdomen or thorax when supine in order to increase patient comfort and compliance. This configuration and design can be implemented in several forms including but not limited to the material(s) used, the placement of various components, the durability of the components, the operative or communicative connection between various components, the efficiency and/or accuracy of the various components in performing their functions, and/or the maintenance procedure. | 08-06-2015 |
20150221205 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DECREASING TRANSTHORACIC IMPEDANCE FOR CARDIOVERSION AND DEFIBRILLATION - A method and system for improving the effectiveness of cardioversion and defibrillation through the ability to reduce transthoracic impedance. A method and system of decreasing transthoracic impedance that allows standardized pressure to be applied directly over desired defibrillator patches. This system reduces transthoracic impedance by increasing effective pressure on desired patches through use of a manual depressor device which incorporates a deformable patient body interface and mechanical and or electronic mechanisms to provide qualitative and or quantitative feedback on the force being applied to said patches. By depressing the device over desired external adhesive electrode patches until an audio and or visual signal indicates sufficient applied pressure, increased patch to skin contact is achieved to decrease the effective transthoracic impedance of a patient upon delivery of a defibrillation shock. | 08-06-2015 |

20140089147 | MULTICHANNEL DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT TOOL, SYSTEM AND METHOD - A new or alternative computer-enabled multichannel distribution management tool, system and method that facilitate multi-channel distribution management of product to the market. The tool, method and system allow manufacturers management of transactions across all distribution channels and throughout the distribution chain, including to the “tail end” of the distribution chain after sale to an end consumer, where manufacturer liability remains (e.g. for returns or warranty repairs or servicing). This facilitates the calculation of “true” profits for manufacturers, based on pre- and post-sales data (e.g. costs associated with the sale of each widget through any given distribution channel). The multichannel distribution management tool also provides distributors and retailers a centralized tool to manage transactions downstream from their relative positions in the distribution chain. | 03-27-2014 |
