20100043008Scalable Work Load Management on Multi-Core Computer Systems - Embodiments of the presently claimed invention minimize the effect of Amdahl's Law with respect to multi-core processor technologies. This scheme is asynchronous across all of the cores of a processing system and is completely independent of other cores and other work units running on those cores. This scheme occurs on an as needed and just in time basis. As a result, the constraints of Amdahl's Law do not apply to a scheduling algorithm and the design is linearly scalable with the number of processing cores with no degradation due to the effects of serialization.02-18-2010

20100043009Resource Allocation in Multi-Core Environment - Embodiments of the presently claimed invention automatically and systematically schedule jobs in a computer system thereby optimizing job throughput while simultaneously minimizing the amount of time a job waits for access to a shareable resource in the system. Such embodiments may implement a methodology that continuously pre-conditions the profile of requests submitted to a job scheduler such that the resulting schedule for the dispatch of those jobs results in optimized use of available computer system resources. Through this methodology, the intersection of the envelope of available computer system shareable resources may be considered in the context of the envelope of requested resources associated with the jobs in the system input queue. By using heuristic policies, an arrangement of allocations of available resources against requested resources may be determined thereby maximizing resource consumption on the processing system.02-18-2010

20130209338INTEGRATED BIOGAS CLEANING SYSTEM TO REMOVE WATER, SILOXANES, SULFUR, OXYGEN, CHLORIDES AND VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS - An integrated biogas cleaning system is provided to clean biogas from sources such as landfills and digesters for heat and power generation systems such as boilers, engines, turbines, or fuel cells. Siloxanes, chlorine, oxygen and sulfur are removed to parts per billion levels as well as removing the majority of water and some volatile organic compounds. The biogas system cools a biogas stream to partially remove contaminants, blends in a small concentration of hydrogen gas and then combusts the remaining oxygen to heat the biogas and leave sufficient hydrogen suitable for a downstream sequence of further contaminant conversion and removal in stages using a hydrodesulfurization bed and adsorbent media beds. Heat exchange arrangements provide efficient recycling of waste heat and compensation for varying levels of oxygen in the incoming biogas waste stream, suitable for use in a wide range of biogas generating sources. The resulting biogas fuel product is suitable for use in combustion generators, fuel cell systems, greenhouse boilers, or as feedstock for further upgrading to renewable natural gas.08-15-2013

20080310344TUNNEL OVERHEAD REDUCTION - Reduction of overhead normally caused by the addition of a second IP header in case of tunneling between a home agent and a mobile node located in a foreign network is achieved by replacing an encapsulated first IP header by a tunnel identifier. The home agent and the mobile node agree on a tunnel identifier value at the time of binding update and acknowledgement. The tunnel identifier may be used independently at the home agent and at the mobile node to reconstruct the first IP header, which identifies a correspondent node. Because the encapsulated first IP header is not terminated at either of the home agent or mobile node, overhead reduction is not impacted by eventual transmission error or loss between these two nodes.12-18-2008

20150061633TECHNIQUE FOR SUPPLYING POWER TO A LOAD VIA VOLTAGE CONTROL AND CURRENT CONTROL MODES OF OPERATION - A regulator draws power from a battery or power delivery system and supplies regulated power to a load according to alternating modes of operation. In a voltage control mode, the regulator supplies power with a nominal voltage level and a fluctuating current level that is allowed to float according to the current demands of the load. When the load demands an amount of current that could potentially cause damage, the regulator transitions to a current control mode. In the current control mode, the regulator supplies power with a fluctuating voltage level and a maximum current level. The regulator transitions between voltage control mode and current control mode in order to supply a maximum power level to the load without exceeding the maximum current level. The regulator is also configured to limit the power drawn from the battery by decreasing the maximum output current, potentially avoiding voltage droop.03-05-2015
