20140028020 | COMPRESSION FITTING - A compression fitting includes a housing, a compressible seal, a follower and a driving member. The housing includes an axial cavity having a lateral sidewall that includes an axial keyway therein. The cavity terminates at a first end portion thereof at a seat. The compressible seal may receive a signal transmitting lead therethrough, and is disposed within the cavity and seated on the seat. The follower is axially movable within the cavity for selective engagement with the seal for axially compressing the seal against the seat, the sidewall of the cavity and the signal transmitting lead. The follower includes an integral key that extends laterally outward therefrom and is received within the keyway, and an axial bore for accommodation therewithin of the lead. The driving member is rotatably mounted on the housing and engageable with the follower such that rotation of the driving member causes an axial translation thereof. | 01-30-2014 |

20120096757 | Swivel Mechanisms for Fishing Lures and Pliable Spinning Appendages and Fishing Lure Assemblies Incorporating Such Swivel Mechanisms - Soft or pliable spinning appendages can be attached to a soft fishing lure using a swivel mechanism that provides unrestricted 360° rotation. The appendages increase attractiveness, flash, vibration, color, or scent. Due to their slow spinning speed and neutral buoyancy in water, the appendages provide unique properties to slow-moving lures not possible with prior art hard blades. A weedless swivel mechanism is also provided. | 04-26-2012 |
20130185989 | FISHING LURE ASSEMBLY - A pliable fishing lure assembly includes a lure body including a leading portion and a trailing portion joined by a connecting hinge portion. A pliable, spinnable appendage is connected for unrestrained 360° rotation to the lure body by a swivel mechanism. The lure body can bend or fold into a U-shaped form at the hinge portion. A hook through the leading portion includes a protruding barbed end on one side of the leading portion and a protruding eye on the opposite side of the leading portion. The lure assembly is formed from a neutrally buoyant or close to neutrally buoyant material. During a glide, the lure body can straighten out at the hinge portion, and the pliable, neutrally buoyant spinnable appendage does not interfere with the weighting and buoyancy of the lure body and does not add excessive drag in the water to the assembly During retrieve, the lure body folds or bends at the hinge portion, and the barbed end of the hook is adjacent the trailing portion of the lure body, where it is at least partially protected from tangling in weeds and hidden from view. | 07-25-2013 |

20150333685 | QUASI VECTOR MOTOR CONTROLLER - An apparatus includes a switch module that selectively turns on a switch to connect an input power conductor connected to a voltage source to a motor in a sequence. The switch for each phase is turned on for a portion of a cycle of a fundamental frequency of the voltage source. A source phase module determines a phase of the AC voltage source, a back-EMF phase module determines a phase of a back-EMF of the motor, and a torque module determines when a phase difference between the phase of the AC voltage source and the phase of the back-EMF is within a phase range indicative of a positive motor torque. A pulse module enables the switches in response to the phase difference having a phase within the phase range and disables the switches in response to the phase difference having a phase not in the phase range. | 11-19-2015 |

20100023759 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTHORIZING CLIENT DEVICES TO RECEIVE SECURED DATA STREAMS - A method and system for authorizing client devices to receive secured data streams through the use of digital certificates embedded in the client devices. A freely distributed cryptographically signed group file with an embedded expiration date is associated with each individual digital certificate. A single group file can be associated with more than one digital certificate but each digital certificate is associated with a single group file. The group file contains cryptographic keys that can be used to decrypt a section of the digital certificate revealing a set of client keys. The client keys are then used to encrypt a program key which are then sent back to the client device. When the client device requests a specific data stream or digital content, an issuance timestamp associated with the content is compared to the expiration date in the group file. If the issuance timestamp is after the expiration date, the client device is declined. If the issuance timestamp is before the expiration date, the requested content, encrypted utilizing the program key, is sent to the client device. | 01-28-2010 |

20130054809 | PREVENTING OSCILLATORY LOAD BEHAVIOR IN A MULTI-NODE DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM - The disclosed embodiments provide a system that prevents oscillatory load behavior for a multi-node distributed system. During operation, the system uses a load-balancing policy to distribute requests to nodes of the distributed system. The system determines operational characteristics for the nodes as they process a set of requests, and then uses these operational characteristics to compute machine queuing models that describe the machine state of each node. The system then uses this machine state for the nodes to determine whether the load-balancing policy and the distributed system are susceptible to oscillatory load behavior. | 02-28-2013 |
20140101492 | ADAPTIVE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE FOR COMPUTING SYSTEMS - Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with adaptively determining a preventive maintenance schedule based on historical system operation are described. The prognostic parameter values are continuously partitioned into a number of operating states based on observed maintenance costs associated with the prognostic parameter values. The operating states range from absolutely healthy, one or more degrees of degradation, to fully degraded. A system cost function is used as the discriminant function. The system cost function is an expected maintenance cost when a given preventive maintenance (PM) schedule is adopted. The system cost function calculates the expected cost based on the observed cost of operation in each of the operating states and a probability of the computing system being in each of the operating states as determined by the PM schedule. The PM schedule that minimizes the cost function is determined to be the optimal PM schedule. | 04-10-2014 |
