20100191002 | Method of Oxidization Using Nitric Acid - A controlled nitric acid process employing oxygen and nitric acid as co-oxidants is used to oxidize organic compounds subject to nitric acid oxidation, to their corresponding carboxylic acids. Oxidation of some carbohydrates by this process can produce one or more of their corresponding acid forms. The process is carried out at moderate temperatures, typically in the range of 20° C. to 45° C. in a closed reactor, with oxygen gas being introduced into the reaction chamber as needed in order to sustain the reaction. Computer controlled reactors allow for careful and reproducible control of reaction parameters. Nitric acid can be recovered by a distillation/evaporation process, or by diffusion dialysis, the aqueous solution made basic with inorganic hydroxide, and the residual inorganic nitrate removed using a filtration (nanofiltration) device. The method eliminates issues of thermal control of the oxidation, release of nitrogen into the atmosphere, and post-reaction difficulties in the removal of nitric acid and inorganic nitrates. | 07-29-2010 |

20140157802 | BLOWER CONTROL FOR VEHICLE WITH START-STOP ENGINE - A method for controlling blower speed of an air conditioning system in a vehicle having a start/stop engine. A stop event is entered and an ambient temperature and a second temperature (e.g., evaporator) of the air conditioning system are measured. A first cutback limit is determined in response to the ambient temperature. The blower speed is ramped to the first cutback limit The engine is restarted and the blower speed is restored in response to the second temperature reaching a restart threshold. Consequently, a rise in evaporator temperature is delayed so that any to request by the HVAC system to terminate the stop event is also delayed. | 06-12-2014 |
20140157803 | VEHICULAR HVAC SYSTEM WITH MODIFIED AIR RECIRCULATION FOR START-STOP ENGINE - A method controls a recirculation position of a return vent in an HVAC system for a vehicle with a compressor driven by a start/stop engine. A partial s recirculation position is set according to a basic recirculation strategy while the engine is operating. An auto stop event is entered at a time with the compressor operating. A full recirculation position is set during the stop event if a plurality of low fogging probability indicators are true. The low fogging probability indicators include a sensed ambient temperature being above a predetermined temperature, a sensed state of a windshield wiper being an off state, and a sensed sunload being above a predetermined sunload. | 06-12-2014 |

20150205962 | BEHAVIORAL ANALYTICS DRIVEN HOST-BASED MALICIOUS BEHAVIOR AND DATA EXFILTRATION DISRUPTION - A system and method detects the existence of malicious software on a local host by analysis of software process behavior including user input events and system events. A user validation engine provides user notification. In-VM operating system monitors capture events handled by the OS, capture user input from the HMI devices, and capture system events from applications executed by the processor at hardware, kernel and/or API levels. The In-VM operating system monitors also pass captured user input and system events to the user validation engine for analysis. The user validation engine identifies legitimate user events as those that move from the hardware level upward to pre-selected applications, identifies illegitimate user events as those that start at the kernel and/or API levels, and approves communication for legitimate events while denying communication for illegitimate events. | 07-23-2015 |
