20100184724 | COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING AND/OR PREVENTING DISEASES CHARACTERIZED BY THE PRESENCE OF METAL IONS - The present invention generally relates to the treatment and/or prevention of Alzheimer's disease, other neurodegenerative diseases, and/or diseases characterized by the presence of certain metal ions, by using certain compositions including organosilicon compounds. A composition of the invention may be administered to a mammal, such as a human. In some cases, the composition may include a silanol, a silandiol, a silantriol, or a cyclic organosilane, and/or be able to form a silanol, a silandiol, or a silantriol upon exposure to physiological conditions such as are found in the blood, in the stomach and/or gastrointestinal tract, or in the brain or other organ. In certain cases, the organosilicon compound may be bound to a moiety able to be transported across the blood-brain barrier into the brain, for example, an amino acid, a peptide, a protein, a virus, etc. The organosilicon compound may also be labeled (e.g., fluorescently or radioactively) in certain instances. In some embodiments, the composition, or a portion thereof, may sequester aluminum, copper, iron or other ions, for example, by electrostatically binding to the ions. The composition may also include other functionalities such as amines, certain alkyl and/or aryl moieties (including substituted alkyls and/or aryls), or hydrophobic moieties, for example, to facilitate transport of the organosilicon compound through the blood-brain barrier. | 07-22-2010 |

20130185803 | MARKING AND OBSCURING SENSITIVE VALUES IN TRACES - In one embodiment, a method for processing trace data is provided. The method generates trace data during execution of the target application and obtains criteria for identifying whether a value in the trace data is sensitive. An initial occurrence of a sensitive value in the trace data is identified based on the obtained criteria. The method then stores the sensitive value in a data structure accessible by an obscuring process. The obscuring process receives the trace data and obscures occurrences of the sensitive value in the trace data prior to providing the trace data for display. | 07-18-2013 |
20140109045 | FLEXIBLE AND RUN-TIME-MODIFIABLE INCLUSION OF FUNCTIONALITY IN COMPUTER CODE - The current application is directed to flexible and run-time-modifiable implementation of crosscutting functionalities, including code instrumentation, error logging, and other such crosscutting functionalities. These crosscutting functionalities generally violate, or run counter to, modern code-development strategies and programming-language features that seek to partition logic into hierarchically organized compartments and modules with related functionalities, attribute values, and other common features. One feature of the methods and systems for implementing crosscutting functionalities to which the current application is directed is an intelligent switch that can be controlled, at run time, to alter invocation and behavior of crosscutting-functionality implementations, including data-collection instrumentation, error logging, and other crosscutting-functionality implementations. | 04-17-2014 |
20140258791 | MONITORING METHOD AND SUBSYSTEM THAT DETECTS ABNORMAL SYSTEM STATES - The current application is directed to monitoring subsystems, and monitoring methods incorporated within the monitoring subsystems, that monitor operation of devices and systems in order to identify normal states and to quickly determine when a device or system transitions from a normal state to an abnormal state. The methods and monitoring components to which the current application is directed employ self-organizing maps and moving-average self-organizing maps to both characterize normal system behavior and to identify transitions to abnormal system behaviors. | 09-11-2014 |
20140282430 | METHOD AND SYSTEM THAT FILTERS BYTE-CODE INSTRUMENTATION AT THE INSTRUMENTATION LEVEL - The current application is directed to crosscutting functionalities, including byte-code instrumentation, error logging, and other such crosscutting functionalities. These crosscutting functionalities generally violate, or run counter to, modern code-development strategies and programming-language features that seek to partition logic into hierarchically organized compartments and modules with related functionalities, attribute values, and other common features. In particular, the current application is directed to byte-code instrumentation introduced into a computer program for collecting data, such as execution traces, elapsed times for routine execution, and other information at run time for logging and subsequently manual, semi-automatic, or automatic analysis. The current application is particularly directed to byte-code instrumentation that automatically filters collected data in order to log only data having greatest value for subsequent analysis. | 09-18-2014 |

20100118112 | GROUP TABLE TOP VIDEOCONFERENCING DEVICE - A group table top videoconferencing device for communication between local participants and one or more remote participants provides a camera assembly and display screens on the same housing—giving the remote participant the perception that the local participant is making direct eye-to-eye contact with him/her. The housing is placed such that the housing is within the field of view of every local participant viewing any other local participant. Because, the remote participant is always within the field of view of the local participant, the remote participant does not get the feeling of non-intimacy during the videoconference. A wall mounted display operates in conjunction with the videoconferencing device to display media content received from the remote participants. Keypad and a touch screen provide user interface for controlling the operation of the videoconferencing device. Speakers convert audio signals received from the remote participants into sound. | 05-13-2010 |
