20090289152 | Device and Method for Suspending Telecommunication and Power Cables - The present invention relates to devices and methods for suspending telecommunication cables, power cables, and other items within a building. According to certain non-limiting embodiments of the present invention, devices for supporting an article are provided. The article may be, for example, one or more telecommunication and/or power cables. According to certain embodiments, the devices comprise a support arm that is adapted to support the article. The support arm is preferably reversibly and adjustably connected to a vertical support. As described herein, the vertical support rests substantially adjacent to a first side of a wall. The apparatus further comprises a horizontal support, which makes contact with at least a portion of the top side of the wall. This horizontal support is, preferably, connected to or integrally formed with the vertical support. In certain embodiments, the devices further comprise a second vertical support, which rests substantially adjacent to a second side of the wall, i.e., the other side of the wall. The second vertical support may be connected to or integrally formed with the horizontal support. | 11-26-2009 |

20090097539 | COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM USING ADAPTIVE FILTER AND VARIABLE DELAY BEFORE ADAPTIVE FILTER TAPS - A communication system receives a modulated signal that carries encoded communication data. An adaptive filter has a plurality of adaptive filter taps and weighted coefficients and a variable delay circuit operative before the adaptive filter taps for separating the spacing of multipath introduced by adaptive filter and producing a filtered output signal with improved multipath performance. A demodulator and decoder receive the filtered output signal from the adaptive filter and demodulate and decode the signal to obtain the communications data. | 04-16-2009 |
20090098828 | COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM USING ADAPTIVE FILTER THAT IS SELECTED BASED ON OUTPUT POWER - A communications system receives a modulated signal that carries encoded communications data. An adaptive filter has an input, a plurality of non-adaptive and adaptive filter taps with weighted coefficients, and an output. The received signal is passed through the adaptive filter and around adaptive filter and a switch selects which signal to pass to demodulator based on measured output power of the adaptive filter and of the original received signal. A demodulator and decoder receive the filtered output signal and demodulate and decode the signal to obtain the communications data. | 04-16-2009 |
20100232326 | MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORK HAVING INTERFERENCE MITIGATION AND RELATED METHODS - A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) may include mobile nodes establishing wireless communications links therebetween. The mobile nodes may communicate based upon an avalanche or relay communications protocol. Each mobile node may comprise a wireless transceiver, and a decorrelation filter cooperating therewith for reducing interference from other mobile nodes. For example, the decorrelation filter also reduces one or more of multi-path interference from other mobile nodes or narrow band interference from other sources. | 09-16-2010 |
20100284439 | SIGNAL JAMMING AVOIDANCE METHOD FOR A FREQUENCY HOPPING COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - To avoid signal jamming, a method is provided for selecting a dwell channel on a receiver in a frequency hopping communication system. The method includes: measuring a noise level on channels over which a data signal is received at the receiver; selecting a dwell channel based on the estimated noise levels, where the dwell channel having the lowest noise level amongst a group of permissible channels over which to acquire a signal from a transmitter; and tuning the receiver to the selected dwell channel during a search state in which the receiver attempts to synchronize with a transmitter. | 11-11-2010 |
