20110169310 | INFANT CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM - A novel infant child restraint system that includes a base having a height adjustment to allow the base to assume one of a plurality of positions and inclinations when mounted to the vehicle seat. Additionally, in certain embodiments the base is formed to have a recessed knee-receiving area, into which the user can place their knee when tightening the vehicle's restraint system around the base. The base and car seat are removably attached in interlocking relation using a novel connection mechanism that is not susceptible to premature or improper release due to forces, regardless of the direction of such forces. This mechanism is independent of the car seat handle. Furthermore, this connection mechanism includes a simple manual disconnect or release system, to allow quick removal of the seat from the base. | 07-14-2011 |
20120013157 | INFANT CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM - An infant car seat having an outer shell, a protective layer, and a padded fabric cover covering the protective layer is disclosed. The protective layer is preferably made of a polymer, such as expanded polystyrene, and includes a plurality of crush ribs. The spacing of these crush ribs is varied in accordance with the size of the infant. The spacing of these crush ribs determines the stiffness of the layer. In other words, closer spaced ribs offer more resistance to compression, and are therefore stiffer. Ribs that are spaced further apart offer less resistance to compression, and are therefore softer. By varying the spacing of the ribs, the stiffness of the protective layer varies in accordance with the infant's size. Alternatively, or additionally, the width of the crush ribs can be varied to achieve a similar result. | 01-19-2012 |

20140104049 | Self-Contained, Obstacle Detection Assembly and Alert System - An improved, self-contained, obstacle detector assembly and alert system consisting of a weather resistant housing unit, a proximity probe frictionally attached to the front end of a rod positioned within a rod guide. Inside the detector assembly housing, the rod is connected to return spring, electrical switching mechanism, battery pack, and alarm system. When the impact probe encounters an obstacle, the rod is pushed into the housing and depresses a mechanical switching lever that contacts the ground plan effectively closing an electrical circuit activating the alarm thus alerting the operator that an obstacle has been encountered. | 04-17-2014 |

20110272836 | ECCENTRIC VESSELS - Vessels, including non-symmetric vessels for mixing fluids, are disclosed. In one aspect, the vessel is one that has a non-rotationally-symmetric interior surface. For example, the vessel may have an oblique frustoconical shape. At least a portion of the mixing vessel may have horizontal cross-sections having varying area, in some embodiments. The vessel may be formed from any suitable material, e.g., glass, plastic, or stainless steel. Such vessels may be used, according to certain embodiments, to create single, double or other multiple emulsions, for example, by exposing liquids or fluids contained therein to relatively high shear rates. In some cases, the vessel may be designed to be pharmaceutical-grade and/or meet ASME Bioprocessing Equipment (ASME-BPE) standards. For instance, the vessel may be used under conditions where the vessel is sterile, and/or the vessel may have a polished internal surface. In some cases, the vessel includes a temperature control system surrounding at least a portion of the vessel. Other aspects relate to methods of using such vessels, methods of creating or preparing such vessels, or kits involving such vessels. | 11-10-2011 |

20090105200 | Combination therapy - The invention provides a combination therapy for treating cancer and other neoplasms including romidepsin and a proteasome inhibitor. When administered together, romidepsin and a proteasome inhibitor (e.g., bortezomib) interact synergistically to selectively kill malignant cells at low (nanomolar) concentrations. The effect is particularly pronounced in malignant hematological cells (e.g., leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma). The combination has also been found useful in treating bortezomib-resistant cancers and steroid-resistant cancers. The invention provides methods of killing malignant cells in vitro and in vivo.
