An example of a system can include an aerodynamic structure having an outer surface, and an array of a plurality of nano-scale effectors connected to the outer surface of the aerodynamic structure to be in fluid contact with a flowing fluid when operationally flowing, to induce controlled, globally distributed disturbances at a viscous wall sublayer of a turbulent boundary layer of the flowing fluid when operationally flowing and to manipulate fluid behavior of the flowing fluid to thereby substantially reduce pressure loss associated with incipient separation of the fluid flow from portions of the aerodynamic structure.09-06-2012

20100219208Method and apparatus for a front access removable agitator motor - An agitator motor assembly is removable from a front of an ice dispenser for servicing, thereby eliminating the need to gain entrance into a storage bin to uncouple the agitator motor assembly from an agitator bar assembly. The ice dispenser includes the storage bin having a port, the agitator bar assembly disposed within the storage bin, and the agitator motor assembly mounted to a front of an exterior portion of the bin. A shaft of the agitator motor assembly engages the agitator bar assembly through the port, such that the agitator motor assembly rotates the agitator bar assembly when powered. The agitator motor assembly further includes a fastening device that passes through a bore in the shaft and engages the agitator bar assembly, thereby coupling the agitator motor assembly to the agitator bar assembly. A method for removing the agitator motor assembly is also provided.09-02-2010

20120152672Linkage Assembly for Drilling or Mobile Well Servicing Rig Braking System - The present disclosure provides improved linkage assemblies for use with drilling rig and mobile well servicing rig braking systems, and braking systems comprising such improved linkage assemblies. The disclosed improved linkage braking assemblies effectively decouple the emergency brake actuation cylinder shaft and the brake lever upon activation of the emergency brake actuation cylinder, thereby preventing the brake lever from rapid and forceful downward movement, which could injure the operator.06-21-2012

20090067939SAFETY DEVICE FOR A PECK DRILL - A pneumatic feed drill has a control unit that repeatedly advances and retracts the drill bit in peck cycles while drilling the hole. The drill has a hydraulic damper cylinder with a damper rod protruding from it that limits the speed of advancement of the drill bit. A retainer device is mounted to the damper rod and prevents the damper rod from resetting to its initial position during the peck cycles. The retainer device releases the damper rod to reset when the drill bit has reached total depth. A safety device is pivotally mounted to the housing and has a closure tab that blocks access to the start button of the drill unless the damper rod is in its initial position.03-12-2009
20090274526SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING FAILED FASTENERS - A system for removing failed fasteners from structures removes the head of the fastener in a controlled manner with precise support and alignment for the cutting tool. A drill guide, drill bushings and the cutting tool mount virtually anywhere on an underlying structure using existing fasteners and receptacles formed in the structure. This design permits the drill guide to be rigidly attached to the structure so that the cutting tool can be positioned and supported directly over the failed fastener. After the drill guide is mounted, a drill bit is extended through the drill bushing to drill a pilot hole in the failed fastener. The cutting tool is used through the drill bushing to cut off the head of the failed fastener without contacting the surrounding structure. All operations required to remove the failed fastener are accomplished through the drill bushings contained in the mounted drill guide.11-05-2009

20110052338THROUGH TOOL COOLANT ADAPTER FOR DRILLING MOTOR - A collet chuck for use in boring through a workpiece that provides a cooling and cleaning fluid to the element that is machining the workpiece. One end of the collet chuck is coupled to the drive end of a motor and its other end retains the machining element. The motor provides a rotational force to the collet chuck and machining element used in machining the workpiece. The machining element, which can be a drill bit or reamer, includes an axial passage that communicates with an annulus in the chuck. The cooling/cleaning fluid flows into the annulus through a rotary seal that circumscribes the collet chuck.03-03-2011
