20100298709 | METHOD FOR NONLINEAR IMAGING OF ULTRASOUND CONTRAST AGENTS AT HIGH FREQUENCIES - This invention employs multiple ultrasound pulse firings of either alternating phase and/or amplitude to detect nonlinear fundamental and subharmonic signals from microbubble contrast agents within living tissue, at high frequencies (≧15 MHz), e.g., with a linear array transducer. It can be shown that the contrast-to-tissue ratio (CTR) decreases with increasing ultrasound frequency because of nonlinear ultrasound propagation in tissue. However, using the subharmonic signal in addition to the nonlinear fundamental harmonic component, rather than the conventional second harmonic used at lower frequencies, provides appreciable signal strength to overcome the limitations of nonlinear tissue propagation. Additionally, the method provides for the ability to switch, at some desired frequency above 20 MHz, into a purely alternating phase inversion acquisition, in combination with bandpass filtering of the subharmonic frequency band, minimizing the losses in CTR as the frequency increases. This maintains contrast sensitivity for more limited fields of view, as penetration depth will be limited at higher frequencies. Thus, within the same micro-ultrasound imaging system, many applications of microbubble detection can be achieved with a wide range of frequencies that covers both resolution and sensitivity requirements. | 11-25-2010 |
20110021919 | HIGH FREQUENCY, HIGH FRAME-RATE ULTRASOUND IMAGING SYSTEM - A system for producing an ultrasound image comprises a scan head having a transducer capable of generating ultrasound energy at a frequency of at least 20 megahertz (MHz), and a processor for receiving ultrasound energy and for generating an ultrasound image at a frame rate of at least 15 frames per second (fps). | 01-27-2011 |

20130172129 | Swing Training Device and System - A swing training device and system that includes a rotating light source or sequence of LED lights that are used to simulate the movement of a pitched ball along a horizontal line. The device may be used in conjunction with training systems designed to develop proper swing mechanics. The device may be set up as a stand alone unit supported by it own frame. The swing training device will help develop visual skills by using the eyes to track a light source along a path to the ball such that a bat or striking object hits the ball at the same time the moving light intersects or passes over the ball. The light source will rotate or repeat at a user controlled frequency such that the user may continue to practice and drill for proper swing mechanics. The swing training device will provide user feedback as to the timing quality of the swing noting weather the swing was early, on-time (ball was hit at the same time moving light intersected with ball), or late. The feedback may be provided with an audible sound, a digital readout (of yellow, red and green lights) and/or with a digital score. The information could be stored electronically such that it may be downloaded to, or by wireless transmission to external devices and used to track progress on swing quality over time for players and coaches. | 07-04-2013 |
