20090036265HYDRAULIC OVER/UNDERSHOOT PROTECTION FOR TRANSMISSION CLUTCH CONTROL - A vehicle automatic speed change power transmission control includes a control arrangement with overshoot/undershoot protection logic. The control is used with an electro-hydraulic pressure control module featuring a linear solenoid, and which supplies a hydraulically-actuated clutch configured to effect gear changes. The overshoot/undershoot protection logic is configured to detect when a commanded increase/decrease clutch pressure satisfies a clutch pressure threshold and to then activate the protection logic. Once the protection logic is activated, large command pressures increases/decreases are implemented in a series of stages having variable gains. The first stage has an aggressive gain and achieves 50-80% of the commanded clutch pressure. The second stage has a reduced gain and achieves 90% of the commanded clutch pressure. The third stage has a still further reduced gain and achieves about 100% of the commanded clutch pressure.02-05-2009
20090183777SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMIC SOLENOID RESPONSE ADJUST CONTROL - A method is described for controlling a solenoid-operated fluid valve having an output hydraulic pressure that varies in accordance with an input solenoid control current delivered from a drive circuit. A model is provided characterizing the plant dynamics of the solenoid-operated fluid valve and the drive circuit where the model is dependent on at least one operating parameter. The method, during operation, involves measuring the value of the operating parameter and adjusting based on the measured operating parameter value one or more gain constants to be used in a selected control strategy. The model is used in adjusting the gains. Finally, the method involves determining a required solenoid control current according to the control strategy with the now dynamically-adjusted gain constants. The control strategy may be a PI control strategy. The model-based system allows easy migration of the general control strategy to different hardware configurations by developing target system specific data for the model.07-23-2009

20080287227LACROSSE HEAD WITH SIDEWALLS OF ASYMMETRICAL HEIGHT - A lacrosse head in which one of the opposing sidewall portions is shortened by bringing its lower rim upward relative to the corresponding lower rim of the opposing sidewall. At the same time, the upper rim of each of the opposing sidewalls is maintained at the same level. This moves the pivot point of the shortened sidewall closer to the player's hands and allows faster clamping when facing-off. Faster clamping likely results in an increased number of “wins”, or possessions, that occur after the face-off.11-20-2008

20110031364HINGED CLAMP BRACKET - A clam-shell bracket for defining a mounting flange on a structural member, such as a hydroformed vehicle cross-member or frame rail, includes a lower body featuring an integrated locating feature with which to preposition the bracket on the structural member, and permanently-attached male threaded fasteners with which to thereafter secure the bracket to the structural member. The bracket further includes a hinged upper body having slotted bolt holes through which the lower body's fasteners may freely pass as the upper body is pivoted into the assembled position, thereby reducing the time required for bracket installation. The use of fasteners on the both the hinged end and opposite end of the lower clamp body provides an improved clamping force about the structural member, while the improved clamping force cooperates with the mating locating features of the bracket and the structural member to improve the lateral applied load transfer therebetween.02-10-2011
