20100310339BOOK PRODUCTION LINE FOR PRODUCING BOOKS COMPOSED OF BOOK BLOCKS INSERTED INTO A CASING - A production line including a casing-in machine and a processing section upstream of the casing-in machine. The processing section includes processing stations arranged at clocking intervals along the processing section to process a book block spine. The processing section includes a first processing station group and a second processing station group. The production line further includes a conveyor to successively supply the book blocks in clocked operation to the processing stations. The conveyor includes a first conveying section assigned to the first processing station group, the first conveying section including a first individual drive, and a second conveying section assigned to the second processing station group, the second conveying section including a second individual drive. The production line further includes a control unit operatively connected to the first individual drive and second individual drive to change the clocking interval length along the processing section.12-09-2010
20110123298DEVICE FOR SHAPING A BACK OF A BOOK COVER THAT IS ALIGNED WITH A BOOK BLOCK SPINE - A device for shaping a book cover back on the inside of a horizontally positioned, spread-out book cover and aligned approximately evenly distributed with a spine of book block. The device includes two opposite-arranged fold-forming rails that have longitudinal extension and a shaping tool that is movable towards the inside of the book cover back that faces the spine to lift the book cover back between the fold-forming rails to form a web on the book cover back. The shaping tool includes a tool bar having a top presenting a guide plane and two adjacent support bars that extend parallel to the fold-forming rails along the longitudinal extension. The support bars adjust a web width of the book cover back in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extension through a joint adjustment of the spacing between the support bars. The support bars are form-fittingly and frictionally positioned on the guide plane of the tool bar.05-26-2011
20110280688METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING A STACK COMPOSED OF BOOK COVERS FOR BOOK PRODUCTION AND A BOOK PRODUCTION LINE PROVIDED WITH THE APPARATUS - A method and apparatus provides for a stack composed of book covers for production of finished books. The book covers are compiled, stacked one above another in an unknown or known sequence and provided with unknown cover information to form a task stack. The book covers of the task stack have identical cover formats. The book covers are separated out and conveyed from the task stack as separate book covers in a sequence that does not change for the following method steps, until a completion signal is transmitted. The separated out book covers are counted, an identifier on each separated out book cover is detected, and cover information is read out of the respective identifier and temporarily stored. The separated out book covers are deposited one on top of the other in the sequence in which they were separated out for forming a detected stack. An identifier is stored that identifies the detected stack together with the temporarily stored cover information.11-17-2011
20110280690COVER FEEDER FOR SUPPLYING BOOK COVERS TO A BOOK PRODUCTION LINE, A METHOD FOR STACKING BOOK COVERS ON A COVER FEEDER AND A BOOK PRODUCTION LINE UTILIZING THE COVER FEEDER - A book cover feeder to supply book covers to a production unit of a book production line. The feeder has a guiding side and a driving side for conveying the book covers in a production direction. The book cover feeder comprising includes a feeding device onto which book covers of a single format are deposited singly, in a scaled formation or in a stack formation. A magazine is arranged to receive the covers from the feeding device. The magazine has a stacking shaft. A separating device is operatively arranged relative to the magazine. The feeding device, the cover magazine and the separating device are embodied integrally or adjoining each other. The feeding device includes, on the guiding side and/or the driving side, a side guiding device that is divided into multiple sections arranged one behind the other in the production direction.11-17-2011
20120255889METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING AT LEAST ONE BOOK CASE FROM A STREAM OF BOOK CASES CONVEYED ALONG A BOOK PRODUCTION LINE - A book case processing portion of a book production line forms a combination with a device for the removal of at least one book case from a stream of book cases conveyed in a main conveying direction along the book case processing portion of the book production line. The device includes a deposit tray that is extendible into the stream to remove the at least one book case from the stream of book cases.10-11-2012
20120257946METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING AT LEAST ONE BOOK BLOCK FROM AND/OR SUPPLYING AT LEAST ONE BOOK TO A CONVEYING SECTION OF A BOOK PRODUCTION LINE - A method and device for the production of books, including: moving book blocks successively along a conveying section of a book production line; supplying a stack of book cases to the book production line; identifying a marking on each of the book blocks and the book cases; transmitting an identified marking on at least one book case to a machine control of the book production line; assigning a dataset stored in the machine control for a sequence of book cases to the supplied stack; determining a sequence in the machine control for book blocks positioned on the conveying section; comparing the dataset for the sequence of the book cases to the sequence of the book blocks; and removing and/or supplying at least one book block from or to the conveying section if the sequence of the book blocks deviates from the sequence of the book cases using the machine control.10-11-2012
20130224375METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EXCHANGING AN ADHESIVE APPLICATION ROLLER - In an apparatus for exchanging a duct roller, a first application roller, rotatable on a joint drive shaft and initially in contact with the duct roller, is swiveled away from the duct roller with a first adjustment element that is connected with the joint drive shaft and to a machine control. The first application roller is exchanged with a second application roller. A spacing between the axes of rotation for the joint drive shaft and the duct roller and a contact pressure between the duct roller and the second application roller are pre-set with a second adjustment element that is also connected to the joint drive shaft and to the machine control. The second application roller is swiveled against the duct roller with the aid of the first adjustment element.08-29-2013
20130230368METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EXCHANGING AN ADHESIVE APPLICATION ROLLER - A method and apparatus for exchanging an application roller which is aligned with a duct roller used to apply glue to a spine of a book block by rolling off the book block spine. The duct roller removes glue from a glue container to transfer glue to the application roller. At least two application rollers are arranging spaced apart, relative to each other, with one of the application rollers being positioned aligned and in contact with the duct roller. The duct roller and the at least two application rollers each have an axis of rotation that is positioned substantially normal to the conveying direction. The application rollers are moved in an axial direction with the aid of an exchanging device, such that a second one of the application rollers is moved into alignment with and against the duct roller in place of the first application roller.09-05-2013
