20090005016APPARATUS AND METHOD TO MAINTAIN A CONTINUOUS CONNECTION OF A CELLULAR DEVICE AND A SENSOR NETWORK - Embodiments of the present invention provide devices and methods that allow a continuous connection to be maintained between a medical device that is capable of communicating over a cellular network and a sensor network. Medical devices that are capable of communicating over a cellular network represent one form of assistive technologies for the home that can allow senior citizens to remain at home for longer, improve the quality of life, and provide more cost-effective solutions than residential care. Removing a SIM card (subscriber identity module, a removable smart card for cell phones that securely stores the service-subscriber key used to identify a mobile phone) from a cellular communication device requires the device to be powered down. However, powering down a medical device can result in a loss of important data.01-01-2009

20090094567IMMUNITY TO CHARGING DAMAGE IN SILICON-ON-INSULATOR DEVICES - Method embodiments herein determine a connection order in which connections will be made to connect active devices to antennas within a given circuit design. The method also evaluates the possibilities that these connections to the antennas will cause charging damage in the devices that are connected to the antennas. Such possibilities are based on the connection order, the size of the antennas, and the likelihood that charges will flow from the antennas through insulators of the devices. If a significant possibility for damage exists, the method can reduce the size of the antenna.04-09-2009

Patent application numberDescriptionPublished
20150051626ROTATIONAL ATHERECTOMY DEVICE WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR - An atherectomy device is disclosed, which is rotationally driven by an electric motor. In some designs, the device includes features unavailable on gas turbine-driven systems, such as the storing in memory of low/medium/high preset rotation speeds for particular models of handle, calculations of the amount of saline left in the IV and associated warnings when it gets sufficiently low, and automatic adjustment of the IV pump rate to a predetermined or calculated level when the rotational speed of the motor is changed. The electric motor has far more rotational inertia than a comparable gas turbine, so the system includes a control mechanism that helps prevent damage from excessive torque being applied to the distal end of the drive shaft. When an obstruction at the distal end is detected, by a drop in the motor rotational speed, the motor is released and is allowed to spin freely as a flywheel. The freely-spinning motor allows the large angular momentum of the system to dissipate rapidly and safely, without excessive torque to the drive shaft.02-19-2015

A digital test instrument includes a pattern controller configured to generate a sequence of test patterns, responsive, at least in part, to a pass/fail result, a pattern memory configured to supply the generated sequence of test patterns to a unit under test, a pattern results collection unit configured to receive at least one result value from the unit under test and to determine a pass/fail result for at least one supplied test pattern, and a synchronization unit configured to provide a no-result indication to the pattern controller during a preset number of pattern cycles following the start of a test, the preset number of pattern cycles based on a results latency of the test instrument, and to provide pass/fail results to the pattern controller after the preset number of pattern cycles.04-16-2009

20150266005CATALYTIC CONVERSION OF BIO-MASS DERIVABLE ALIPHATIC ALCOHOLS TO VALUABLE ALKENES OR OXYGENATES - Disclosed is a catalyst system, its methods of preparation and its use for producing, among others, alkenes and/or saturated or unsaturated oxygenates and, which include at least one of an aldehyde and an acid (such as propyl aldehyde, acrolein, acrylic acid, isobutyl aldehyde, methacrolein, methacrylic acid), comprising subjecting the corresponding C3 to C5 aliphatic alcohols that are derivable from biomass, such as, propanols, propanediols, and isobutanol, to a vapor phase process over the catalytic system described herein in the presence of a gas mixture of oxygen, air or nitrogen and/or other suitable diluting gas. In the case where a C3 aliphatic alcohol (1-propanol, 2-propanol, or 1,2-propanediol or 1,3-propanediol) or a mixture thereof is subjected to a vapor phase catalytic process over the said catalytic system in the presence of air or oxygen, and a co-fed gas, such as nitrogen or other diluting gas, the product is at least one of propylene, propyl aldehyde, acrolein and acrylic acid. In the case where isobutanol is subjected to such a process, the product is at least one of isobutylene, isobutyl aldehyde, methacrolein and methacrylic acid. The catalyst system comprises a single catalytic zone or multi-catalytic zones, in each of which the composition of the co-feed and other reaction parameter can be independently controlled.09-24-2015
