20100093098 | NONFLOW-THROUGH APPRATUS AND MEHOD USING ENHANCED FLOW MECHANISMS - Methods and apparatus for facilitating the synthesis of compounds in a nonflow-through device are presented. Application of the nonflow-through methods and microfluidic devices to the synthesis of radiolabeled compounds is described. These methods and apparatus enable the introduction of a pressurized gas through a tangential slit into a vortex reactor of the nonflow-through device, while one or more liquids are delivered to the reaction chamber through the same or different inlet ports. The introduction of the pressurized gas produces a cyclonic motion of the mixture within the reactor. Such a mechanism may be used to facilitate the evaporation of various liquids within the reactor at lower temperatures, thus reducing the production of unwanted byproducts that are associated with the use of high temperatures. In addition, thorough mixing of various liquids may be effected rapidly while allowing chemical reactions to take place efficiently within the vortex reactor. | 04-15-2010 |

20140081954 | MEDIA INFORMATION SYSTEM AND METHOD - A system and method for generating thematic topics in assisting the compilation and dissemination of user generated content for citizen journalism in context from two or more media sources is provided. A first media source is queried for first topics. The first media source is one of the two or more media sources. The first topics are cross-referenced with a second media source of the one or more media sources. A most popular topic of the first topics is determined among the one or more media sources. The most popular topic has a greatest number of query and cross-reference results among the first topics. The determined most popular topic is associated with a related User Generated Content, UGC and transmitted. The resulting compendium of topics and UGC promotes development of a citizen journalism community and such online favorable reporting remains compatible with professional standards. | 03-20-2014 |

20090187760 | Security Mechanism within a Local Area Network - A local area network server may issue security certificates to client devices on the network for two-way authentication across the network. The certificates may be issued through a transaction performed over the network and, in some cases, may be automated. The server may have a self signed or a trusted security certificate which may serve as a basis for issuing certificates to various clients. After a certificate is issued, future communications on the network may be authenticated by both the server and client, and the communications may be encrypted using the certificates. | 07-23-2009 |
20090313506 | Test Result Aggregation and Analysis Using Text Expressions - A test and analysis system may use Xpath or other text based analysis descriptors to analyze test results that may be presented in XML. The text based analysis descriptors may be installed and used on an analysis system without exposing the analysis system to security vulnerabilities, and such descriptors may be frequently updated and distributed. A server device may have a test manager that may coordinate tests performed on other devices connected through a local area network, and may gather and store the test results for analysis. In some cases, the test results may be converted to XML for analysis. | 12-17-2009 |
20110295688 | DEFINING USER INTENT - Methods and computer-readable media are provided for defining user intent so that user intent can be determined and advertisements and other information can be provided to a user based on that user's intent. A topical expression is identified and is associated with attributes and actions. Actions indicate steps that can be performed to achieve a task associated with the topical expression. An intent structure is then generated. The intent structure illustrates a relationship between the identified topical expression and other topical expressions. User data may then be received and mapped to the intent structures to determine present and future user intent. | 12-01-2011 |
20110313847 | MAPPING IDENTIFIERS - Systems and methods for mapping identifiers are provided. Activity logs illustrate activities and/or events associated with a plurality of identifiers. The identifiers may be registered identifiers, unregistered identifiers, or a combination thereof. When at least two identifiers share a linking attribute, the at least two identifiers may be mapped to one another, along with information associated therewith (if any) such as a user profile. Each subsequent line of an activity line may also be mapped to the identifiers of the initial single line when a linking attribute or an overlapping identifier is present. A number of identifiers associated with each other may be increased by mapping identifiers and, thus, a targeted audience for a customized advertisement may, in turn, be increased. | 12-22-2011 |

20120072554 | NODE CLUSTERING - Large sets of unorganized data may provide little value in identifying useful observations from such data. For example, an online merchant may maintain a database of millions of user IDs (e.g., a cookie ID, a login ID, a device ID, a network ID, etc.) along with content viewed and/or actions taken with the user IDs, where minimal associations are known between user IDs. It may be advantageous to link together user IDs of respective users to capture a comprehensive view of respective users' activities. Accordingly, one or more systems and/or techniques for identifying a cluster of nodes based upon transforming a set of node pairings (e.g., pairings of related nodes) one or more times are disclosed herein. Iterative transformations may be performed until respective nodes are paired with merely their smallest neighboring node and are paired with no other node. In this way, node clusters may be identifiable. | 03-22-2012 |
20120297017 | PRIVACY-CONSCIOUS PERSONALIZATION - Personalization is enabled in a privacy-conscious manner. User interest information can be determined as a function of user behavior with respect interaction with content, for example. Such private information can subsequently be disseminated in a controlled fashion based on permission of the user to which the information pertains. Additionally, core functionality can be supplemented by third-party extensions allowed by a user. | 11-22-2012 |
