20140240020CONFIGURABLE TIME DELAYS FOR EQUALIZING PULSE WIDTH MODULATION TIMING - A plurality of PWM generators have user configurable time delay circuits for each PWM control signal generated therefrom. The time delay circuits are adjusted so that each of the PWM control signals arrive at their associated power transistors at the same time. This may be accomplished by determining a maximum delay time of the PWM control signal that has to traverse the longest propagation time and then setting the delay for that PWM control signal to substantially zero delay. Thereafter, all other delay time settings for the other PWM control signals may be determined by subtracting the propagation time for each of the other PWM control signals from the longest propagation time. Thereby insuring that all of the PWM control signals arrive at their respective power transistor control nodes with substantially the same time relationships as when they left their respective PWM generators.08-28-2014

20140328154Method for Crosstalk and Power Optimization in Silicon Photonic Based Switch Matrices - Crosstalk can be suppressed in photonic switching fabrics by activating unused photonic elements in a manner that manipulates the inactive connections and inhibits the propagation of cross-talk over the switching fabric. For example, unused photonic elements can be set to a cross or bar configuration to block first and second order crosstalk from propagating to the output ports, thereby reducing noise in the output signals. All of the unused elements can be activated in order to maximize crosstalk suppression. Alternatively, fewer than all of the unused elements may be activated to achieve a balance between crosstalk suppression and power conservation. Photonic switch architectures can be configured to use pre-determined cross-talk suppression maps (e.g., patterns of activated unused cells) for the various switching configurations, which may be computed using a recursive algorithm.11-06-2014
20150049998Compact Optical Waveguide Arrays and Optical Waveguide Spirals - Crosstalk can be reduced in optical waveguide bundles by varying the widths of individual waveguides. Using different width waveguides reduces the growth of crosstalk between the optical waveguides, thereby allowing the waveguides to be placed in closer proximity to increase waveguide density on the chip and/or reduce the routing space required for the waveguide bundle. Moreover, varying the width of a waveguide spiral may reduce crosstalk, which can increase power efficiency when implemented in coiled or folded waveguide thermal optical (TO) devices.02-19-2015
20150055951Method for Crosstalk and Power Optimization in Silicon Photonic Based Switch Matrices - Recursive optimization algorithms can be used to determine which idle photonic switching elements to configure in N×N switching fabrics to achieve crosstalk suppression. Different algorithms are used to achieve different levels of optimization. Embodiment full optimization techniques may configure all inactive cells to reduce crosstalk, and consequently may provide the best noise performance and highest power usage. Partial optimizations may configure fewer than all inactive cells to reduce crosstalk, and may provide sub-optimal noise performance at lower power usages. Differential partial optimization algorithms configure inactive cells in different stages of a photonic switching fabric. Fewer than all cells in a given stage may be configured by some algorithms.02-26-2015

Where documents in an index are classified into one or more category predictions for a category hierarchy, classification metadata is generated for categories to which a document in the index has been classified. Further, the classification metadata is associated to the corresponding documents in the index. Additionally, a query of the index can be classified using the metadata associated to the documents in the index, and query results can be provided that are classified by the one or more categories identified by the classification of the query.11-18-2010
20100318892IDENTIFYING CHANGES FOR ONLINE DOCUMENTS - Techniques and systems are disclosed for providing changed content identification for an online document that is accessed by a user or user agent. The prior version of the document is retrieved, when the user or user agent accesses the online document, such as by using the reference point. Elements of the prior version are compared with elements of a current version of the document, to determine whether there are differences between the versions. If changes are identified between the prior version and the current version, the current version is automatically updated with visual or auditory representations that identify those changes of content.12-16-2010
