20090326547 | COMPRESSED AIR DISSECTOR (AIR JET SCRAPER) - Compressed air dissector is a surgical dissector which is used in tumor dissection and excision phases in surgical branches and especially in neurosurgery and microsurgery. The problem at this point is removal of the tumoral tissue without damaging the adjacent normal tissue and the blood vessels feeding the normal tissue. Moreover, serious difficulties may be encounter in the dissection phase of the arachnoid matter in brain surgery. The occurring adhesions can easily be opened with the aid of the air dissector. This provides great convenience in aneurism surgery. The operation principle of the compressed air dissector is direction of the controlled, sterile compressed air (gas) to the brain parenchyma and removal of the dissected particles from the location with an aspirator system. In said system, the particles in the air are cleaned with a filter system. When the compressed air is directed to the tumor tissue it easily dissects and removes the tumor. In the meanwhile, as no liquids are present in the lacuna the operation site can be seen clearly. Furthermore, event the smallest vessels are protected. Thus, peroperative bleeding occurs less and the postoperative wound curing becomes more physiologic. Moreover, tissue damage due to thermal effect is out of the question during the use of compressed air dissector. | 12-31-2009 |

20110257516 | MAGNETIC RESONANCE METHOD AND APPARATUS TO SEPARATE DEPICTION OF A TRACKED ITEM FROM SURROUNDING ANATOMY OF A PATIENT, USING A TRANSMIT ARRAY SYSTEM - In a method for detecting rotational orientation and position tracking of an inductively coupled RF (ICRF) coil using a transmit array system, a conventional body birdcage coil is used, but the quadrature hybrid is eliminated to use the two excitation-channels separately. The transmit array system provides RF excitations such that the body birdcage coil creates linearly polarized and circulating RF pulses instead of a conventional rotational forward polarized excitation. Inductively coupled RF (ICRF) coils can be constructed on catheters for detecting rotational orientation and tracking purposes. The modifications on anatomy and ICRF coil images are different due to the RF excitation scheme such that the ICRF coil can be separated from the anatomy in real-time. After separating the ICRF coil from the anatomy, a color-coded image can be reconstructed, for example. | 10-20-2011 |

The method further includes measuring a temperature of the motor and applying a compensation value to the selected control value in the event that the measured temperature exceeds a threshold. A winding of the motor is then excited with the supply voltage and the selected control value is used to define an attribute of excitation. The compensation value, when applied to the selected control value, causes a reduction in the input power of the motor. | 12-18-2014 |

The numerical parameters include a parameter characterizing the diversity between scale parameters of significant features of the image obtained by a scale-space transform, and/or parameters obtained by measurement of lines in the occular image representing respective glands. Meibomian glands can be identified on ocular images using Gabor filtering as a local filtering technique. The parametrization in shape, local spatial support, and orientation of Gabor filtering is particularly suitable for detecting meibomian glands. | 12-11-2014 |

20130194933 | SELECTING A DATA UNIT FOR RETRANSMISSION - An event is detected relating to failure to receive an acknowledgment of a particular data unit transmitted by the first wireless node. According to a predefined criterion, a data unit is selected from a plurality of unacknowledged data units for retransmission. | 08-01-2013 |
20130242859 | Handling Packet Data Convergence Protocol Data Units - Systems, apparatus and methods can be implemented for handling packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data units (PDUs). A described technique includes receiving a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data unit (PDU). It can be determined whether the received PDCP PDU is a duplicate PDCP PDU or that the received PDCP PDU is outside of a reordering window. The received PDCP PDU can be discarded without performing deciphering or header decompression for the received PDCP PDU. | 09-19-2013 |
