20090130475 | Wood treatment solution and process - The present invention features a single aqueous solution that imparts acceptable levels of water resistance, fire resistance, mold resistance and pest resistance to wood, and which may be used in standard wood treatment techniques commonly utilized in the wood treatment industry. In one preferred embodiment, the aqueous solution comprises a fire retardant, preferably sodium metasilicate nonahydrate (about 5% to 30% by mass), an insect and termite repellant, preferably sodium tetraborate decahydrate, also known as borax, (about 1.5% to 9% by mass), a mold inhibitor, preferably thymol (about 0.01% to 0.1% by mass) or ethanolamine (about 0.5% to 20% by mass), and a pH buffer, preferably sodium carbonate (about 1% to 10% by mass). It is believed that the borate/silicate components polymerize upon drying, and become water insoluble, which in turn prevents leaching and provides water repellent characteristics to the wood after treatment. It has been observed that the sodium carbonate may also act as a mold inhibitor, so that the ethanolamine and thymol may be optional ingredients in the solution. The calcium carbonate, in addition to serving as a buffer and imparting some mold and mildew inhibiting properties, is thought to also serve as a catalyst that maintains the water solubility before and during the immersion (impregnation) step, and helps to polymerize the silicate/borate compounds during the drying step. The aqueous solution should have a pH in the range of 9.5 and 13. Additionally, a powder mixture of the above-recited components may be prepared, and may be added to an appropriate amount of water to form the aqueous solution. | 05-21-2009 |

20100162467 | Tuckit Skinny Capri - Tuckit Skinny Capri is a pant that makes the method of tucking in your jean or pant into boots easier, faster and more convenient. The pant is made to fit snugly to the leg and has a new technology of integrated garter or hose grips which allow the pant to have dual usage. These garter style clips (one on each side of the pant leg, each lying flatly against the leg) are located below the hem of each leg and allow for quick attachment to socks for boot wear. The garter clips are permanently attached to each side of the pant leg by an elastic band that is sown on the hem. The wearer simply puts on the “tuckit skinny capri” and a pair of socks, attaches the pant/capri to the socks through the use of the integrated clips, flips down the hem to cover the clips, and simply slips the boot on. This avoids having to spend a considerable amount of time tucking the jean/pant into the boots and a bunched up look at the top of the boot area. It also avoids the jean/pant slowly sliding up as the person walks. Tuckit capris will allow for a smooth tucked in look for anyone who wants to wear their jeans or pants inside their boots during winter or fall. The duality of the skinny capri also plays an important role, as the person can wear it with regular shoes on a summer day. | 07-01-2010 |

20140106956 | Dental Investment Material - A new investment material for the pressing loss wax technique for dental glass ceramics. It has been found that the addition of fillers to a magnesium phosphate investment, specifically metal oxides with elevated melting points ranging from 1800 to 2800° C., provides a protection barrier against the reaction between the high alkaline content of the glass ceramic and the investment during the pressing process in the range of 800 to 950° C. Specifically, it has been found that the addition of aluminum oxide of about 2 to 5 percent of the total dry mix in combination with any of the zirconium oxide, yttrium stabilized zirconium, titanium dioxide and boron nitride in proportions of about 3.5%, enhances the barrier against a surface reaction and improves the thermal properties of the investment. | 04-17-2014 |

20140131359 | Slidz - It is well known that people like to enjoy beverages on the go. Most people will make a drink they cannot finish and have to either transfer the beverage to a “to-go” cup, pouring the beverage out or taking the beverage with them, risking spilling it, as they transport themselves to another location. The essence of the invention is that it allows most cups and mugs to be converted to a “to-go” style beverage without the need of transferring the beverage to another drinking device. This is achieved by having a stretchable silicone that fits inside the cup. Slidz means slide-in-lid that fits most cups and mugs of different diameters. It is made of a silicone material and functions to make cups/mugs “to go”. It has two holes to allow for sipping and air flow and is flexible to adjust to different sized of cup interiors. | 05-15-2014 |
