20110293450PUMP MAGNET HOUSING WITH INTEGRATED SENSOR ELEMENT - An exemplary magnetically-driven fluid pump includes a magnet housing (“cup”) that enables one or more sensors to be in indirect (“non-wetted”) contact with the pumped fluid while avoiding the static seals normally required with sensors that are mounted to a fluid conduit or chamber and extend into the fluid pathway. Sensors may be used for monitoring the fluid or for feedback control of the pump. By coupling sensors directly to electronic circuits that control the pump, the number of wires located outside the motor housing is minimized, making the assembly more rugged. This is particularly advantageous in hazardous environments or submerged applications. Pumps and hydraulic systems disclosed exhibit fewer leaks under more aggressive pumping conditions and while providing improved pump performance, compared to conventional pumps and systems.12-01-2011
20120003107PUMPS AND PUMP HEADS COMPRISING VOLUME-COMPENSATION FEATURE - A fluid pump having a pump housing that includes at least one expansion joint, provides volume compensation, as needed, to adjust for changes in pressure in the pump housing. Various embodiments automatically and passively reduce static pressure in the pump housing associated with a freezing event, thereby preventing damage to the pump head. Volume compensation is achieved by employing, in each expansion joint, a dynamic seal that allows relative movement of two portions of the pump housing, and a bias that provides a selected counter-force to the movement of the housing portions. The subject pumps are particularly suited for use in automotive and other rugged applications, in which fluid pumps may experience recurring freezing events.01-05-2012

20120150517Calculating Liquid Levels in Arbitrarily Shaped Containment Vessels Using Solid Modeling - Systems and method for simulating liquid containment behavior. The system comprises a solid modeler and a nonlinear equation solver. The nonlinear equation solver takes as input the solid model representation of the containment vessel from the solid modeler, a desired orientation in space, dynamic conditions (e.g., lateral acceleration) and an amount of liquid. To find the level of liquid in the vessel, the system solver iteratively performs successive Boolean subtractions using an infinite horizontal half-space that represents the liquid level of the vessel. The resulting sliced solid model is used to compute the volume of the liquid at that level. The iterative system solver terminates when the computed volume of the sliced containment vessel matches the specified volume of liquid (e.g., fuel) within a given tolerance. To accommodate dynamic situations, e.g., when acceleration is present, the horizontal liquid plane is replaced with a plane at an angle that corresponds to the total acceleration.06-14-2012

20130066946SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A DYNAMIC INVOCATION AND SERVICE INTERFACE FOR USE IN A MIDDLEWARE OR OTHER ENVIRONMENT - A system and method for providing a dynamic invocation and service interface for use in a middleware or other environment. At the service-side, messages can be inserted into an inbound processing chain. After service-side inbound processing, messages are given to the user via a provider request function. The user gives a response by using a provider response function that inserts messages into a service-side outbound processing chain. After service-side outbound processing, messages are given to the user's service response transport. On the client side, the user can insert messages into the outbound processing chain using a dispatcher request. After client-side outbound processing, messages are given to the user's client request transport. This decouples message processing from the transport and makes the message processing asynchronous in nature. When the response is received, a user uses a client response transport function to insert the response into the client-side inbound processing chain.03-14-2013

20100299433NETWORK RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - The invention provides real time dynamic resource management to improve end-to-end QoS by mobile devices regularly updating a resource availability server (RAS) with resource update information. Examples of resource update information are device battery status, available memory, session bandwidth, delay, packet loss, and jitter, network element storage capacity, network element processing power. This information is made available by the RAS. In addition, the RAS generates and maintains predictive models and makes available predictive data from these models. Network elements and devices retrieve this information in the form of notifications from the RAS or by way of querying the RAS. The network elements and devices, based on these predictions, act to negotiate sessions to optimise QoS. In one embodiment the RAS is updated by only mobile devices subscribed to the operator which hosts the RAS. The update information is addressed to the RAS as a stand-alone entity. However, it is envisaged that the server may be hosted by multiple operators and may receive updates from devices subscribed to different operators. Also, it is envisaged that not only mobile devices but also network elements such as MMSCs may send update information.11-25-2010

20120246229Notifying Participants that a Conference is Starting - A conferencing service enables users to schedule telecommunication conferences. At the time when the host of a previously scheduled conference joins the conference, one or more participants of the conference do not have active communication sessions with the conferencing service. In response to the host joining the conference, the conferencing service notifies such participants that the conference is starting. Because the conferencing service notifies these participants that the conference is starting, it may be unnecessary for these participants to wait on hold for the host to join the conference.09-27-2012
