20120324770SNAP N' STRETCH STRETCHER BAR WITH CONNECTING SEGMENTS - Disclosed is a stretcher bar frame and canvas fastening system specifically designed for artists. The stretcher bar framing system consists of side bar, corner, and connecting segments that snap fit and interlock for quick and easy assembly and disassembly. The snap fit interlocking side bar, corner, and connecting segments features a locking mechanism that utilizes a male plug member and a female socket member. The connecting segment plug member includes four resilient flexible arms with flat tooth surfaces that interlock when fully inserted into the socket members of the side bar and corner segments. The plug and socket members snap together for a tight and straight fit that can be quickly released and separated using a side release mechanism. The side release mechanism disengages the stretcher bar frame's side bar, corner, and connecting segments by pressing inward on the flat tooth surface of the flexible latching arms of the connecting segments. The back side of the stretcher bar features a canvas fastening block for insertion of staples, tacks, or other gripping fasteners that allow the canvas to be mounted, re-stretched, removed, or remounted. The stretcher bar system features an affordable museum quality depth that does not require the need for additional framing. The stretcher bar frame's side bar, corner, and connecting segments are made of a low cost, light-weight, non-warping, durable plastic or resin material that provides structural durability, resiliency, and stability. The pre-molded corners allows for an exact square corner without using braces or wedges for further adjustments.12-27-2012

20120005926SNAP N' STRETCH STRETCHER BAR - Disclosed is a stretcher bar framing and canvas fastening system specifically designed for artists. The stretcher bar framing system consists of side bar segments of variable lengths and pre-molded corner segments that are snap fitting and interlocking for quick and easy assembly and disassembly. The snap fit interlocking bar and corner segments feature a locking mechanism that utilizes a male plug member and a female socket member. The plug member includes a pair of resilient flexible arms with a flat surface tooth that interlocks when fully inserted in the socket member. The plug and socket members snap together for a tight and straight fit that can be quickly released using a side release mechanism. The side release mechanism disengages the stretcher bar segments by pressing inward on the flat tooth surface of the latching arms located within the side aperture on the bar. The back side of the stretcher bar features a self-healing canvas fastening block for insertion of tack fasteners or staples that allow a canvas to be mounted, re-stretched, removed, or remounted. The stretcher bar system features a museum quality depth that is affordable and does not require the need for additional framing. The stretcher bar is made of a low cost, light-weight, non-warping, durable plastic or resin material that provides structural durability, resiliency, and stability. The pre-molded corner allows for an exact square without using wedges for further adjustments.01-12-2012

20120085094Photovoltaic-Thermal (PV-T) System for Desalination - A photovoltaic-thermal (PV-T) system and a method of cooling photovoltaic (PV) cells in the system is described herein. Energy from an excitation source such as the sun hits the PV cells in the PV-T system causing heating that reduces PV efficiency. The PV cells are cooled by fluid in an intact heat-transfer system making a heated water byproduct while the PV cells release a form of energy. In addition, the PV-T system can be implemented in a desalination plant to harvest energy and heat for desalination processes. The present invention also includes methods for transferring heat from PV cells to the earth to improve PV performance and reduce thermal shock to the PV cells.04-12-2012
