The body members are interconnected in a sliding or telescoping manner that allows the device to be expanded or contracted in two orthogonal directions. | 05-28-2009 |
20090248091 | Sternal clamp with rib extension - A sternal closure clamp device for securing and retaining longitudinally divided halves of a sternum, the device having a pair of body members each having engagement members adapted to abut the sides of the sternal halves, and at least one rib extension member having rib retaining means attached to at least one of said body members, such that the rib extension member can be secured to a rib to reduce the force being applied directly to the sternal halves. | 10-01-2009 |
20120265312 | System and Method for Manufacture of a Cranial Repair Implant and a Cranial Repair Implant Produced Thereby - A custom cranial repair implant is prepared by conforming a malleable sheet material, such as for example a thin metal foil, a polymer sheet material or a laminate of various materials, a formable cement or putty-like material, or a spray or liquid settable material, to the edges and depth of a cranial defect in a manner that creates a mold matching the cranial defect. The mold is removed from the cranial defect and a settable putty or cement material that is biocompatible is then poured into the mold and allowed to harden. Once sufficiently cured, the implant is then removed from the mold and further shaped if necessary by cutting, abrading or the like. The implant is then affixed within the cranial defect in known manner, such as by bonding, gluing, mechanical fasteners, etc. | 10-18-2012 |
20120265313 | Method of Cranial Repair and Cranial Repair Implant Molding Device - A method of cranial repair and the cranial implant molding device used therein, the device having a frame or base that receives a bottom or convex molding plate and a top or concave molding plate in a manner whereby the two plates are separated a distance to receive a settable or curable implant forming material therebetween. The plates are separated by a compressible member such that by the use of threaded mechanical fasteners or similar members the distance between the two plates can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the mechanical members. The thickness of the implant is varied by varying the separation distance on different sides of the frame. | 10-18-2012 |
20140234459 | Cranial Repair Implant Molding Device - A cranial implant molding device having a frame or base that receives a bottom or convex molding plate and a top or concave molding plate in a manner whereby the two plates are separated a distance to receive a settable or curable implant forming material therebetween. The plates are separated by a compressible member such that by the use of threaded mechanical fasteners or similar members the distance between the two plates can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the mechanical members. 20150282840 | Cranial Burr Hole Cover - A cranial burr hole cover having an internal bracing member, a locking external cover member joined by one or more connecting members, and a locking mechanism that precludes movement of the external cover member relative to the connecting members in the proximal direction once the cover is secured onto the skull. The internal bracing member is longer than it is wide. For a given burr hole, the cover will be chosen such that the longitudinal dimension is greater than the diameter of the burr hole and the width dimension is less than the diameter of the burr hole. With this structure the interior bracing member of the burr hole cover may be inserted through the burr hole by tilting the internal bracing member such that a longitudinal end of the internal bracing member is able to be inserted into the hole and under the skull. The internal bracing member is then moved laterally relative to the burr hole to bring the connecting members close enough to the edge of the burr hole to allow the opposite end of the internal bracing member to clear the opposite edge of the burr hole. The internal bracing member is then centered beneath the burr hole with both longitudinal ends positioned beneath the skull. The external cover member is now moved distally toward the skull and the internal bracing member to cover the burr hole. The locking mechanism secures the cover in place on the skull and the connecting members extending from the cover member are cut flush with the cover member. | 10-08-2015 |
