Methods of detecting the presence of cancer (e.g., estrogen receptor negative basal-type breast cancer) in a subject include obtaining a biological sample from the subject; contacting the sample with at least one reagent that detects presence of LBH expression; measuring the level of LBH expression in the biological sample; and correlating overexpression of LBH with the presence of cancer (e.g., estrogen receptor negative basal-type breast cancer) in the subject. Kits for detecting the presence of basal-type breast cancer in a subject include at least one reagent for detecting the presence of LBH expression in a biological sample from the subject and instructions for use. | 02-17-2011 |
