20120266142 | System and Method for Automating Testing of Computers - An application under test may be run in a test mode that receives a series of test scenarios and produces a set of test results under the control of a verification application. The verification application utilizes “typed-data” (i.e., data having known types that are associated with the data itself, e.g., XML-based data) such that a number of parameters can be set for each event and a number of result parameters can be checked for each result in at least one script. A series of scripts can be combined into an action file that may invoke scripts and override parameters within the invoked scripts. The events can be sent and received using a number of messaging protocols and communications adapters. | 10-18-2012 |

20090099948 | Two-Stage Estimation of Real Estate Price Movements for High Frequency Tradable Indexes in a Scarce Data Environment - Indexes of commercial property prices face much scarcer transactions data than housing indexes, yet the advent of tradable derivatives on commercial property places a premium on both high frequency and accuracy of such indexes. The dilemma is that with scarce data a low-frequency return index (such as annual) is necessary to accumulate enough sales data in each period. This invention presents an approach to address this problem using a two-stage procedure with frequency conversion, by first estimating lower-frequency indexes staggered in time, and then applying a generalized inverse estimator to convert from lower to higher frequency return series. The two-stage procedure can improve the accuracy of high-frequency indexes in scarce data environments, and also can mitigate an errors-in-variables problem that arises at very high frequency even with plentiful data (e.g., monthly indexes). In this paper the method is demonstrated and analyzed via simulation analysis and by application to empirical commercial property repeat-sales data. | 04-16-2009 |

20150073594 | Solar Tracking System Employing Multiple Mobile Robots - The present invention relates to a highly-available and fault-tolerant solar tracking system and the process required to manage such a system. A fleet of multiple, redundant mobile robots managed by a task coordinator is deployed to track solar panels in a solar farm in alignment with the sun. Each robot has a control unit for engaging with a coupler connected to one or multiple solar panels and adjusting their orientation, as well as communicating with the task coordinator to receive tasks. The task coordinator senses various events such as robot failure/deterioration, as well as various environmental conditions, and sends tasks reconciled with event types. The system is highly-available and fault-tolerant as it remains operational as long as there is one operational robot. The task coordinator assigns tasks to the mobile robots so as to optimize battery life or other factors, such as, e.g., overall maintenance costs across the fleet. | 03-12-2015 |

20100221453 | BIAS ENHANCED NUCLEATION OF DIAMOND FILMS IN A CHEMICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION PROCESS - Diamonds are used to nucleate diamond and diamond-like carbon films in a chemical vapor deposition process using bias enhancement. A negative bias is applied to the substrate, such that a cationic form of the diamond is accelerated toward the substrate during the nucleation phase of the deposition. In this manner, the diamondoid may be embedded or partially embedded in the substrate and/or growing film, increasing the adhesion of the film to the substrate. According to the present embodiments, it is not necessary to mechanically pre-seed the substrate for nucleation purposes. | 09-02-2010 |
