20100289615 | Electro-mechanical Leverlock with Switching System - A leverlock system is provided wherein an enclosure can be locked for a specified time period using a simple locking arrangement. The leverlock is intended to be used in conjunction with existing locking systems, and allows a user to restrict entry to anyone, including those who might otherwise be authorized to enter the enclosure, over a specified time period. A timer module is provide which activates a solenoid connected to a locking apparatus is provided, and the timer module controls the activation of the solenoid so that entry into the enclosure is only permitted for a selected interval duration, at a specific time. The leverlock system is also preferably accompanied by an Electrical/Electronic Switching System having a circuit which can be energized or de-energized by using a Random Access Memory—(RAM) Recognition Switching System™. The preferably auxiliary switching means is primarily used in conjunction with existing electrical/electronic switching circuits, and allows the primary user to restrict even those with secondary authority from energizing or de-energizing the circuit at other times. A temporary, randomly generated entry code is used to restrict access. The code is stored in memory for subsequent comparison with an inputted code value, which is preferably printed as a hard copy original of the code. Preferably, the code will not be erased from memory until used or reset by the primary user. | 11-18-2010 |

20160067225 | AROMATASE INHIBITOR-RELEASING INTRAVAGINAL DEVICE - Described herein is an intravaginal device that provides biologically active circulating concentrations of an aromatase inhibitor for at least about of 4 days. Three compounds with estradiol inhibitory capability (letrozole, anastrozole and fenbendazole) were tested in vitro using bovine granulosa cell culture. Letrozole was found to be the most efficient and potent inhibitor. Liposome-based and a wax-based formulations were used to assess letrozole diffusion through bovine vaginal mucosa in a diffusion chamber study. Samples were collected over a 24 h period. The wax-based vehicle was selected for further development of a letrozole intravaginal device based on its steady release rate. In an in vivo study in cattle, 3 different intravaginal devices containing 3 g of letrozole were tested: Wax (with 1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphoethanolamine, DOPE) +gel coat (n=2), Wax+gel coat (n=4) and Wax (n=4). Blood samples were collected serially from time 0 to 120 h, and daily thereafter to measure circulating concentrations of letrozole by LC/MS/MS. The addition of a letrozole-containing gel coating improved initial absorption and hastened the increase on plasma concentrations of the active ingredient, while the letrozole-containing wax-based vehicle maintained prolonged delivery from the intravaginal device. | 03-10-2016 |

20100065268 | IN SITU HEAVY OIL AND BITUMEN RECOVERY PROCESS - The present invention is directed to an in situ reservoir recovery process that uses a horizontal well located near the top of a reservoir and an inclined production well to extract bitumen or heavy oil from a reservoir. In a first stage, the top well is used for cold production of reservoir fluids to the surface, in which, reservoir fluids are pumped to the surface in the absence of stimulation by steam or other thermal and/or solvent injection. A lower production well is drilled into the formation below the top well. The top well is converted to an injection well or, if no cold production then a top well is drilled as an injector well. A portion of the bottom well is inclined so that one end of the incline is closer to the injector well than the other end of the incline. The compounds are reversibly convertible between ring-open and ring-closed isomeric forms as indicated in structures I(o) and I(c) below. (See formula in original abstract of application) The conversion between the different isomeric forms may be induced by light or electricity. In one embodiment the compounds may include a charge transfer moiety including electron donor and acceptor groups. The electron donor and acceptor are linearly conjugated in the ring-open form to enable electron transfer but are electrically insulated in the ring-closed form. Methods for synthesizing the compounds from photochemically and/or electrically inert precursors are also described. For example, the photoresponsive compounds may be synthesized by reacting diene precursors with dienophiles in a condensation reaction. The compounds may be utilized in reactivity-gated photochromic or electrochromic applications. In one embodiment of the invention, compounds of the invention may be used in a method to selectively release a releasable agent, such as a small molecule. According to this method, a photochemically inert precursor compound is reacted with the releasable agent to form a carrier compound comprising a switching moiety, the switching moiety being reversibly convertible between a thermally unstable form and a thermally stable form. The switching moiety may be selectively converted between the first and second forms to cause controlled release of the releasable agent from the carrier compound. | 07-29-2010 |
