A series of preset keys are sequentially labeled and one preset key, such as the preset key marked “0,” is a pre-defined preset key. An elongated pressing of the pre-defined key causes the currently tuned channel, if it is not assigned to a preset key, to be assigned to an unassigned preset key. If the currently tuned channel is already assigned to a preset key, pressing the pre-defined key instead causes the currently selected channel to be un-assigned from that preset key. Radios with two tuners that each process different sets of radio signals assign channels for a particular tuner to alternating preset keys, allowing acceleration of sequentially selecting channels assigned to pre-set keys by pre-tuning another tuner to the next channel in the sequence.2013-09-05

20130231120NETWORK VETTING OF WIRELESS MOBILE DEVICE INITIATED DISCONNECT - Technology is discussed for allowing a wireless mobile device, such as a User Equipment (UE), to coordinate with a Radio Access Network, such as an Evolved-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN), to tear down a power intensive messaging connection, such as a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection, to met needs of both the UE and the E-UTRAN. The UE can initiate the tear down process based on information at the UE about the potential need of the UE for the RRC connection and/or the state of the UE's battery charge. The E-UTRAN can then determine whether to grant the request based on the potential overhead involved. The determination can be important to the E-UTRAN because of the large overhead associated with frequent disconnection and re-establishment of the RRC connection. 20130231131TAGLESS RADIO FREQUENCY BASED SELF CORRECTING DISTRIBUTED REAL TIME LOCATION SYSTEM - Services based on radio frequencies like GPS, RFID, GSM, CDMA, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth triangulation allows us to know, with some level of confidence, the position of a mobile device. However, those methods rely on special software and/or hardware. They also fail inside buildings since they cannot provide fine granulated values with a high level of accuracy. Each radio frequency device (mobile or not) emits a signal with a given strength and identification (Mac address or similar) to the air. The signal is captured by our nodes (at least 2 of the nodes), that measures the strength of the signal and therefore calculate the distance estimation. Since the signal is affected by electromagnetic noise, number of people in the building, or even temperature, the suggested system self corrects the values by knowing the distance between the nodes and measuring the signal strength. This gives to the system a very low error margin of about 1%. Some applications rely on real time tracking solutions, that traditional tracking systems cannot provide or need to provide tags to follow devices. The system here presented is distributed to be able to process the signal in real time (connected via a high speed network), with low latency and also stores the location estimation, device identification and time collected for analytics and reporting.2013-09-05

In another example, a power controller may manage multiple rectifiers so that the rectifiers operate more efficiently, such as with approximately equal runtime and with regular testing.2013-09-05
20130231157CELLULAR PHONE WITH CAMERA AT FRONT EDGE AREA - A cellular phone includes a case defining opposite primary faces with the display on one of the primary faces. A camera lens is located around a front edge area of the case so as to be activated to efficiently capture the front sight image when the cellular phone is held in the palm of the user in a lying manner and the user is moving wherein the contents derived from the Internet communication and the front sight image are both shown on the screen in either an overlapped manner or not and an optional translucent background layer may be provided as an interface with regard to the front sight image so as to have both the contents and the front sight image viewable on the screen.2013-09-05
20130231158USER INTERFACE TONE ECHO CANCELLATION - A multi-function communications device has a processor that generates a user interface audible tone signal. The device also has a downlink digital signal processor, and an uplink digital signal processor. A mixer has an input to receive the downlink signal and another input to receive the user interface tone signal. The uplink processor has an acoustic echo canceller having an input to receive the uplink signal and another input to receive an output from the mixer. The echo canceller may reduce the amount of both the far-end user's speech and the user interface tone that may be present in the uplink signal. The mixer may be positioned within the chain of audio signal processors, or it may be positioned outside the chain. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.2013-09-05
