20080210652Hydraulic Motors for Actuating and Controlling an Anti-Swing System in Container-Handling Granes - The invention relates to hydraulic motors for actuating and controlling an anti-swing system in container-handling cranes. Container-handling cranes pose the following problem, namely that, when the trolley moves, the cables supporting the load spreader oscillate longitudinally in relation to the aforementioned movement. Systems currently used to reduce said swinging movement are inconvenient because (i) they comprise numerous power transmission elements, thereby generating maintenance problems, and (ii) the main two functions thereof are performed separately, i.e. movement transmission and oscillation reduction. The aforementioned problems can be resolved with an autonomous, independent drive system using hydraulic motors, thereby rendering the power transmission drive chain simple, robust, reliable and easy to maintain. In addition, the motors perform the main functions simultaneously, i.e. producing the movement and reducing the oscillations. According to the invention, pressure-limiting devices are used to dampen the pressure points applied to the motors during the swinging movement. The system balances the pressure on the motors and, in this way, offsets the oscillating movement.2008-09-04

The beads have flat undersurfaces and the inner periphery of the central opening has a ledge with a conical surface engaged by the beads. Any doming that occurs in the disk and/or the closure shell base wall increases the surface contact between the finger beads and the opposing surface of the ledge so that removal of the shell from a container neck finish will simultaneously lift and remove the disk from the neck finish without having the beads snap through the central opening in the shell so that the shell is removed while the disk is retained on the neck finish.2008-09-04
20080210658Liquid Container - Disclosed is a liquid container for containing liquid contents. The liquid container comprises a body with a desired volume for containing liquid contents; a narrow neck formed at an upper side of the body; an opening formed at an inside of the neck so as to be communicated with an inside of the body; and an air path extended from the upper side of the body to an upper side of the neck so as to be opened at upper and lower end thereof so that an entrance of the opening is communicated with an inside of the body, wherein a lower opening of the air path has an inclined section which is inclined upward at a desired angle relative to a reference surface of the liquid contents in the body. Additionally, the air path has a length so that the lower opening thereof is not contacted with the reference surface of the contents. When a user tilts the container after removing the cap so as to pour out the contents, since the external air can smoothly enter through the air path, a sudden pressure change in the container is prevented. Thus, the contents can be smoothly and quietly discharged without sputtering and splashing about inside.2008-09-04

20080210662THICK POROUS ANODIC ALUMINA FILMS AND NANOWIRE ARRAYS GROWN ON A SOLID SUBSTRATE - The presently disclosed invention provides for the fabrication of porous anodic alumina (PAA) films on a wide variety of substrates. The substrate comprises a wafer layer and may further include an adhesion layer deposited on the wafer layer. An anodic alumina template is formed on the substrate. When a rigid substrate such as Si is used, the resulting anodic alumina film is more tractable, easily grown on extensive areas in a uniform manner, and manipulated without danger of cracking. The substrate can be manipulated to obtain free-standing alumina templates of high optical quality and substantially flat surfaces. PAA films can also be grown this way on patterned and non-planar surfaces. Furthermore, under certain conditions the resulting PAA is missing the barrier layer (partially or completely) and the bottom of the pores can be readily accessed electrically. The resultant film can be used as a template for forming an array of nanowires wherein the nanowires are deposited electrochemically into the pores of the template. By patterning the electrically conducting adhesion layer, pores in different areas of the template can be addressed independently, and can be filled electrochemically by different materials. Single-stage and multi-stage nanowire-based thermoelectric devices, consisting of both n-type and p-type nanowires, can be assembled on a silicon substrate by this method.2008-09-04
20080210663METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PROBE - The present invention provides a probe manufacturing method in which, after a metal material for a probe is deposited on a base table, the probe can be detached from the base table relatively easily. A sacrificial layer is formed on a base table. The sacrificial layer is partially removed so as to form a recess in the sacrificial layer. A mask that exposes an area formed in a desired probe flat surface shape containing the recess is formed on the sacrificial layer. A probe material exhibiting different etching resistance characteristics from those of the sacrificial layer is deposited in the area exposed from the mask. By the deposition of the material, a coupling portion corresponding to the recess and a probe that is integral with the coupling portion are formed.
