20220160269 | OPTICAL PHYSIOLOGIC SENSOR DEVICES AND METHODS - Physiologic sensors and methods of application are described. These sensors function by detecting recently discovered variations in the spectral optical density at two or more wavelengths of light diffused through the skin. These variations in spectral optical density have been found to consistently and uniquely relate to changes in the availability of oxygen in the skin tissue, relative to the skin tissue's current need for oxygen, which we have termed Physiology Index (PI). Current use of blood gas analysis and pulse oximetry provides physiologic insight only to blood oxygen content and cannot detect the status of energy conversion metabolism at the tissue level. By contrast, the PI signal uniquely portrays when the skin tissue is receiving ‘less than enough oxygen,’ ‘just the right amount of oxygen,’ or ‘more than enough oxygen’ to enable aerobic energy conversion metabolism. The PI sensor detects one pattern of photonic response to insufficient skin tissue oxygen, or tissue hypoxia, (producing negative PI values) and a directly opposite photonic response to excess tissue oxygen, or tissue hyperoxia, (producing positive PI values), with a neutral zone in between (centered at PI zero). Additionally, unique patterns of PI signal response have been observed relative to the level of physical exertion, typically with a secondary positive-going response trend in the PI values that appears to correspond with increasing fatigue. The PI sensor illuminates the skin with alternating pulses of selected wavelengths of red and infrared LED light, then detects the respective amount of light that has diffused through the skin to an aperture located a lateral distance from the light source aperture. Additional structural features include means of internally excluding light from directly traveling from the light emitters to the photodetector within the sensor. This physiology sensor and methods of use offer continuous, previously unavailable information relating to tissue-level energy conversion metabolism. Several alternative embodiments are described, including those that would be useful in medical care, athletics, and personal health maintenance applications. | 2022-05-26 |

20220160284 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SORTING ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL SIGNALS ON VIRTUAL CATHETERS - Electrophysiological signals from a graphical representation of an electrophysiology map including a plurality of electrophysiology data points can be sorted by receiving user inputs specifying a number of virtual electrodes for a virtual catheter and defining a pathway of the virtual catheter. A corresponding number of virtual electrodes can be defined on the pathway of the virtual catheter, and one or more electrophysiology data points relevant to electrical activity at the virtual electrodes can be identified, allowing output of a graphical representation of electrophysiological signals corresponding to the identified electrophysiology data points. Relevant electrophysiology data points can be identified by applying one or more relevance criterion, such as a distance criterion, a bipole orientation criterion, a time criterion, and/or a morphology criterion. | 2022-05-26 |
20220160285 | NON-INVASIVE CARDIAC MONITOR AND METHODS OF USING RECORDED CARDIAC DATA TO INFER A PHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF A PATIENT - The present invention relates to a non-invasive cardiac monitoring device that records cardiac data to infer physiological characteristics of a human, such as cardiac arrhythmia. Some embodiments of the invention allow for long-term monitoring of physiological signals. Further embodiments allow for processing of the detected cardiac rhythm signals partially on the wearable cardiac monitor device, and partially on a remote computing system. Some embodiments include a wearable cardiac monitor device for long-term adhesion to a mammal for prolonged detection of cardiac rhythm signals. | 2022-05-26 |
20220160286 | Adaptive User Interaction Systems For Interfacing With Cognitive Processes - A method for modifying cognitive processes includes receiving respective electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from EEG sensors, where the EEG signals are of a brain of a user. Features are extracted from the respective EEG signals. A cognitive state of the brain of the user is obtained from a first machine learning (ML) model that uses the features as input. Feedback parameters of a feedback signal are obtained from a second model that uses the cognitive state as input. The feedback signal is and provided to the user and using a user device according to the feedback parameters. | 2022-05-26 |
