Also, since a parasitic capacitance of the MOS transistor serving as the differential pair is separated from the local IO line, a load capacity of the local IO line is reduced and the read operation is speeded up. A voltage control circuit can be used to temporarily reduce a voltage at which power is supplied to cells belonging to a column selected for a write operation. The voltage control circuit may include a first p-type field effect transistor (PFET) and a second PFET. The first PFET may have a conduction path connected between a power supply and the cells belonging to the selected column. The second PFET may have a conduction path connected between the cells belonging to the selected column and ground. Such voltage control circuit may operate in a self-limited manner that avoids overshooting the reduced voltage level. In a variation thereof, a voltage control circuit having first and second NFETs (n-type field effect transistors) can be used to temporarily raise the voltage of a low voltage reference provided to cells of the SRAM.2009-03-05

In such method, when a column of the SRAM is selected for writing, a first p-type field effect transistor (“PFET”) and a second PFET can be operated to supply the power at a lower voltage level to cells belonging to a selected column, the lower voltage level being lower than the power supply voltage level. The first PFET can have a conduction path connected between a power supply and the cells belonging to the selected column. The second PFET may have a conduction path connected between the cells belonging to the selected column and ground. While supplying the power at the lower voltage level, a cell belonging to the selected column may be written. When the column is no longer selected for writing, the first and second PFETs can be operated to supply the power at the power supply voltage level again to the cells belonging to the selected column.2009-03-05

The disclosed system merges spatial-based velocity errors with temporal-based velocity errors by using a combining algorithm that is based on the optimization criteria that the output after combining has no bias error and has a minimized mean square error. With these criteria, the combining algorithm takes the form of a weighted summation of the spatial data stream and temporal data stream inputs with the weights being a function of the relative velocity errors. In combining spatial and temporal processing in this manner, the disclosed system provides improved velocity measurements for a wider range of ship's speeds. In particular, the system achieves performance levels of a spatial correlation sonar for low ship's speeds for which a temporal correlation sonar solution might not be available. Techniques for improving the ultrasound generating transducer include using a blazed FBG, designing the photoacoustic material thickness to enhance optical absorption.
