The membrane has a second cross-sectional area that is larger than the first cross-sectional area of the port.2016-02-04
20160037254Unidirectional Close-Talking Microphone and Microphone Cap - The orientation of the directional axis and the directionality of a microphone are adjusted through a simple configuration. A unidirectional close-talking microphone includes a microphone unit including a front sound-collecting segment and a rear sound-collecting segment; and a microphone cap attachable to the outer circumference of the microphone cap, the microphone cap including a plurality of sound-collecting holes on a side face, the relative position between the microphone cap and the microphone unit being switchable between a first position and a second position along the central axis, the sound-collecting holes being disposed on opposite sides of the central axis at different positions along the central axis, the rear sound-collecting segment being in communication with outside of the microphone cap through the sound-collecting holes in the microphone cap when the microphone cap resides at the first position, part of the rear sound-collecting segment being covered with the microphone cap when the microphone cap resides at the second position.2016-02-04
20160037255BEAMFORMING IN VARYING SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL - A method that uses a microphone array for spatially selective sound pickup during an audio-video recording session is described. An audio signal for the audio-video recording session is generated using a beamforming process from the microphone array in accordance with a sound pickup directivity pattern. Ambient sound pressure level of the audio-video recording session is monitored while generating the audio signal. The sound pickup directivity pattern of the beamforming process is automatically adjusted during the audio-video recording session as a function of the monitored ambient sound pressure level. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.2016-02-04
20160037256MICROPHONE - When external pressure extremely increases, a waterproof vibration membrane tends to be resiliently deformed extremely toward the inside. However, an inward resilient deformation inhibiting member provided on the inner side of the waterproof vibration membrane with a space therebetween inhibits this extreme inward resilient deformation of the waterproof vibration membrane, whereby the waterproof vibration membrane is prevented from being ruptured or plastically deformed. On the other hand, when the internal pressure extremely increases, the waterproof vibration membrane tends to be resiliently deformed extremely toward the outside. However, an outward resilient deformation inhibiting member provided on the outer side of the waterproof vibration membrane with a space therebetween inhibits this extreme outward resilient deformation of the waterproof vibration membrane, whereby the waterproof vibration membrane is prevented from being ruptured or plastically deformed.2016-02-04
