20080222042 | Prescription Generation Validation And Tracking - Medical prescriptions may be produced in electronic form and carry a plurality of encoded, encrypted data sets. The first data set may represent a unique prescription identifier and the second data set a patient identifier such as a PIN: Both data sets are encrypted and printed on the item, for example encoded in a data matrix. The patient may present a printed prescription to a chemist at which point the data matix symbol is canned to retrieve the encrypted data sets. The data set including the unique identifier may be sent to a remote location for decryption and comparison against a stored identifier to verify the prescription as genuine. The second data set may be decrypted and compared locally to verify that the person presenting the prescription is the patient or an authorised representative of the patient. If both data sets are vertified, the chemist maydispense the medicine. Further data sets may include details of the prescription and prescription history, and details of the doctor and the chemist. The latter two can be sent to local health authorities for payment. The doctor can be notified when the prescription is validated and the patient's records updated accordingly. Different encryption may be used for the two data sets. | 09-11-2008 |

20090076965 | COUNTERACTING RANDOM GUESS ATTACKS AGAINST HUMAN INTERACTIVE PROOFS WITH TOKEN BUCKETS - A system and method that facilitates and effectuates distinguishing a human from a non-human user. A human interactive proof (HIP) employs a token bucket algorithm in order to reduce the success rate for a non-human user employing a guessing or artificial intelligence to solve a substantial number of HIP challenges. The algorithm can employ token buckets associated with IP address and user session from which the user is attempting to solve the HIP challenge. If a token bucket is empty the algorithm can treat a correct response as incorrect and refill a portion of the buckets for a further attempt. This forces two correct responses to be received by a user within the refill quantity for the users bucket(s) before the user is identified as human. | 03-19-2009 |
20090099967 | HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, KEY MANAGEMENT SERVER AND METHOD FOR MANAGING KEY, AND ENCRYPTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ENCRYPTING VITAL SIGN DATA - Provided is a health care system including a key management server that receives from a server a request for a decryption key, with first identification information identifying a measuring apparatus, second identification information identifying vital sign data, and third identification information identifying the server. The key management server generates the decryption key using the first identification information, and stores fourth identification information identifying a server predetermined as a destination of the decryption key, and fifth identification information indicating the category of the vital sign data in correspondence with the fourth identification information. The key management server transmits the decryption key to the server, when the received third identification information matches the fourth identification information, and the received second identification information matches the fifth identification information. | 04-16-2009 |
20090144200 | MEDICAL CARE RECORD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, MEDICAL CARE RECORD MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, AND MEDICAL CARE RECORD MANAGEMENT METHOD - A medical care record management system for managing the records of medical care covered by an insurance performs the steps of acquiring first information that is information regarding the result of a medical care when a medical institution conducts the medical care for an insured person insured; acquiring second information that is information integrating the information regarding the insured person with an signature of an insurer of the insurance generated based on the information regarding the insured person; generating the third information that is information integrating the first information with an signature of the insured person by generating the signature of the insured person based on the first information; and generating the fifth information that is information integrating fourth information including the second information and the third information, with an signature of the medical institution by generating the signature of the medical institution based on the fourth information. | 06-04-2009 |
20090150292 | System and method for secure storing, displaying, organizing electronic, and transferring medical records - A software application that enables secure storing, displaying, organizing and transferring of electronic medical records (EMR) at a health care provider's office for future visits, storage, billing, insurance audits, and follow up of prescriptions and prescribed treatments. The EMR consists of physician notes, dictation, lab reports, images, patient histories, records, and can be stored and transferred in a plurality of manners. A smart card contains a microprocessor and includes an embedded chip that requires a PIN for access. In use the smart card is accessible by the health care provider entering their key card and PIN as well as the patient entering their own smart card and PIN. The patient then receives updated information on their smart card from their doctor. Next the patient can use the card to provide information to their insurance company, a pharmacy, hospital, or another health care provider. | 06-11-2009 |
20090164378 | Music Distribution - The present invention relates to a method of distributing music comprising creating a structured audio file from an audio track, the audio track having two portions, the first portion comprising data to reproduce a lower quality version of the audio track by a media player and data in a second portion that can be used to reproduce a higher quality version of the audio track. | 06-25-2009 |
20100017331 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ORDERING GOODS, SERVICES AND CONTENT OVER AN INTERNETWORK - A billing system that allows a consumer to order products from computers connected to the Internet, wherein the consumer is automatically billed for the ordered product by its telephone service provider. When a product is ordered over the Internet, a plug-in component of the consumer's computer establishes an Internet connection to a billing server. A billing server component transfers an encrypted version of the product to the plug-in component. The plug-in component then disconnects from the Internet and establishes a point-to-point (PPP) connection with the billing server. During the PPP connection, the billing server component transfers an access key assigned to the order to the plug-in component so that the plug-in component may decrypt the product. The consumer is charged a unit rate or “drop-charge” for the product by the telephone service provider using a premium telephone number assigned and administered by the telephone service provider. | 01-21-2010 |
20110060688 | APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF DIGITAL FILES - Processes and apparatus for the on-line distribution of digital files with advertisements, advertisement management systems, digital rights management systems, and a user computing devices are provided. In some implementations, a method involves transmitting a digital file to a computing device upon receiving a request originating from the computing device to download the digital file to the computing device, the digital file having a set of executable instructions and transmitting one or more advertisements associated with the digital file to the computing device. In one implementation the set of executable instructions when executed in the computing device are useable to detect if one or more of the associated advertisements have not been received or properly played in the computing device. In one implementation the set of executable instructions are also useable to delay or to prevent or to inhibit full execution of the digital file in the computing device upon detecting that one or more of the associated advertisements have not been received or properly played in the computing device. | 03-10-2011 |
