20110152144Environmentally-Friendly Kelp-Based Energy Saving Lubricants, Biofuels, and Other Industrial Products - A natural algae-based synthetic lubricant derived from harvesting kelp from the ocean, recovering sieve sap from the kelp, drying the sieve sap, and removing salts and oxides to leave a composition having a concentration of polyols (Mannitol about 70% and Mannose about 0.4%) and about 28% by weight of a high molecular weight polymer. The synthetic lubricant may be used as a drag reducing agent and additive for existing lubricants and also further reacted with fatty esters to form a hybrid lubricant that may serve as a total replacement for existing lubricants.06-23-2011
20110190179AQUEOUS LUBRICANT EMULSION FOR MEDICAL OR APPARATUS AND A METHOD OF WASHING - An aqueous lubricant emulsion for medical or food apparatus, comprising: (a) 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a mineral oil; (b) 5 wt % to 30 wt % of an emulsifier system consisting of two emulsifiers selected from the group consisting of sorbitan fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester, oleyl alcohol ether, triethanolamine oleate, wherein the mass ratio of the two emulsifiers is in a range of 2:8 to 8:2; (c) 0.5 wt % to 5 wt % of one or more coemulsifiers selected from the group consisting of fatty alcohols, long-chain fatty acids, and diisooctyl succinate sulfonates; and (d) the balance of water. A method for washing medical or food apparatus including the step of subjecting the medical or food apparatus to a treatment using the lubricant emulsion according to the invention after a washing step for the medical or food apparatus is also described.08-04-2011
20110195881CONVERSION OF VEGETABLE OILS TO BASE OILS AND TRANSPORTATION FUELS - The present invention is directed to methods (processes) and systems for processing triglyceride-containing, biologically-derived oils to provide for base oils and transportation fuels, wherein partial oligomerization of fatty acids contained therein provide for an oligomerized mixture from which the base oils and transportation fuels can be extracted. Such methods and systems can involve an initial hydrotreating step or a direct isomerization of the oligomerized mixture.08-11-2011
20110269654Biodiesel Lighter Fluid - Disclosed is an environmentally conscious, odor-free lighter fluid mixture comprising a 50-70% ethanol and 30-50% biodiesel combination. Methyl-ester, ethyl-ester and propyl-ester fatty acids, commonly referred to as biodiesel, are clean burning fuels derived from new or waste vegetable oil such as soybean, canola or sunflower. Combined with an ethanol accelerant, the mixture provides a lighter fluid that is easily ignitable without risk of detonation or explosion, and one that brings charcoal briquettes up to temperature quicker than traditional methods. The mixture is petroleum free, which eliminates the associated unpleasant odors and potential health risks of traditional lighter fluid, including a reduction in the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the environment. The mixture offers a renewable, sustainable, and efficient ignition source for charcoal that does not sacrifice utility compared to traditional lighter fluid, and does not impart undesirable flavors onto grilled food.11-03-2011
20120101014METHOD FOR MAKING BIOFUELS AND BIOLUBRICANTS - A process for producing biofuels and biolubricants from lipid material includes reacting lipid material with a motive fluid in a reactor. The reactor may be configured to cause a high energy collision between the motive fluid and the lipid material that facilitates the reactions that result in biofuels and biolubricants. A heavy fraction of the effluent may be repeatedly recycled back through the reactor until most, if not all, of the lipid material has been converted.04-26-2012
20120190600ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY KELP-BASED ENERGY SAVING LUBRICANTS, BIOFUELS, AND OTHER INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS - A natural algae-based synthetic lubricant derived from harvesting kelp from the ocean, recovering sieve sap from the kelp, drying the sieve sap, and removing salts and oxides to leave a composition having a concentration of polyols (Mannitol about 70% and Mannose about 0.4%) and about 28% by weight of a high molecular weight polymer.
