20100056025GUIDED ROTARY FILE - A rotary file includes: (a) a body having first and second ends, and an outer surface comprising at least one cutting edge; (b) a shank extending from the first end of the body which is adapted to be mounted in a rotary tool; and (c) a pilot extending from the second end of the body, the pilot defining an annular peripheral surface with an arcuate cross-section.03-04-2010
20120094580AIRFOIL MASK, AIRFOIL AND MASK SYSTEM, AND MASKING METHOD FOR EDGE PROFILE FINISHING - A mask for performing high speed media finishing on airfoils includes a thicker portion and a thinner portion. The thicker portion is spaced further from an edge that will become a leading edge in the final airfoil than the thinner portion. The media is redirected by the thicker portion toward the edge where the finishing is to occur.04-19-2012
20130149940Device For Shot-Peening A Metal Substrate, The Surface Of Which Is Predetermined By Masking Using A Screen Consisting Of A Removable Adhesive Material - The invention relates to a device for shot-peening a metal substrate, the surface of which is predetermined by masking using a screen consisting of a removable adhesive material. Said method is particularly suitable for the low-cost production of a pattern on objects such as a metal tile, trash cans, and stainless steel vases. The device includes a machine for cutting adhesive and a gun provided with a bellows, which is to be positioned on the adhesive using a sight and target that is then applied to the object.06-13-2013
20130237130METHODS FOR IMPARTING AN IMAGE TO A SURFACE AND KITS FOR USE THEREWITH - Methods for imparting an image to a painted exterior surface on a motor vehicle and kits for use in such methods are described. The methods include applying a mask to an outer clearcoat layer of the painted exterior surface, the mask having a masked portion that covers part of the clearcoat layer and an open portion that leaves part of the clear coat layer exposed, the masked and open portions cooperating to define the image, abrading the exposed part of the clearcoat layer to provide it with a matte finish, and removing the mask to reveal an image having a matte finish region and an unabraded region. The clearcoat layer in the matte finish region of the image is capable of being provided with a surface gloss appearance that is consistent with the surface gloss appearance of the clearcoat layer in the unabraded region of the image and without painting the surface of the motor vehicle. The kits comprise a mask that is adapted to be removably attached to the outer clearcoat layer and an abrasive that is capable of removing a portion of the outer clearcoat layer to generate an image having a matte finish region and an unabraded region, and one or more materials that may be used to provide the outer clearcoat layer in the matte finish region of the image with a surface gloss appearance that is consistent with the surface gloss appearance of the clearcoat layer in the unabraded region of the image.09-12-2013
20130244543SHIM-MASK STENCIL - A masking stencil to protect the surface surrounding a high spot to be abraded which, due to its minimal thickness and resistance to abrasive action, allows the abrasive to work over the stencil resulting in the requirement of a sufficiently fine abrasive to finish the process after stencil removal, that damage to the surrounding surface is reduced.09-19-2013
20140073224METHOD FOR PROCESSING EDGE SURFACE AND EDGE SURFACE PROCESSING APPARATUS - An aspect of the present embodiment, there is provided a method of fabricating a semiconductor device, including grinding a second surface of a wafer, the second surface opposite to a first surface of the wafer being stuck with a surface protection material, forming a protective film on the first surface, irradiating a portion including an outside edge of the wafer with laser light to remove the portion including the outside edge in a state that the wafer is rotating and an irradiation position of the laser light is approaching to a rotation axis of the wafer, an absorption ratio of the wafer to the laser light being higher than an absorption ratio of the surface protection material to the laser light, and removing the protective film.03-13-2014
20150140903METHODS FOR IMPARTING AN IMAGE TO A SURFACE AND KITS FOR USE THEREWITH - A method for decorating a motor vehicle is disclosed comprising applying a mask to a painted exterior surface on the motor vehicle, the mask having a masked portion and an open portion that leaves part of the clearcoat layer exposed, wherein the masked portion and the open portion cooperate to define the image that is to be imparted to the surface, and wherein, prior to abrading the exposed part of the clearcoat layer, the exposed part of the clearcoat layer is free of defects. The exposed part of the clearcoat layer to is abraded to provide the exposed part of the clearcoat layer with a matte finish. The mask is removed to reveal an image having a matte finish region and an unabraded region.05-21-2015
20160184959AIRFOIL MASKING TOOL AND METHOD OF POLISHING AN AIRFOIL - An airfoil masking tool constructed to protect the leading edge, trailing edge and tip of an airfoil during polishing of the airfoil. A method of polishing an airfoil using the masking tool.06-30-2016
451031000 With preparation of shield 2
20090163115METHOD OF MAKING ACOUSTIC HOLES USING UV CURING MASKING MATERIAL - A method of forming acoustic holes in a composite sound-insulating material includes creating a image of at least a portion of an array of holes and transferring the image to an ultraviolet (UV) radiation transparent medium. The method continues with positioning the medium in contact with a UV-curable mask and exposing the medium-covered mask to UV radiation to cure the UV-exposed areas. The method further includes removing the uncured mask material to create an abrading mask that includes a plurality of holes in a desired pattern. The method also includes positioning the abrading mask in contact with the sound-insulating material and directing a stream of abrasive matter at the abrading mask to create perforations in the sound-insulating material that correspond to the pattern of holes in the abrading mask.06-25-2009
20130303053METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CUTTING OUT HARD-BRITTLE SUBSTRATE - To cut out a hard-brittle substrate by blasting, laying out substrates 11-14-2013
