A vehicle transfer mechanism is carried on the platform and includes four self-powered tractors carrying lift arms that can be driven off the platform to engage the tires of a vehicle and to transfer that vehicle onto the platform for transportation between a transfer room and a parking space. The tractors, when deployed, pass outside the vehicle tires with the lift arms folded and can then be operated to extend the arms in a way that engages the tires and lifts the vehicle.06-06-2013
20130280018DEVICE AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY LATERALLY STORING A MOTOR VEHICLE IN A STORING DEVICE - Device for storing an automotive vehicle transversely relative to its longitudinal axis on a parking space of a storage facility, having a surface-maneuverable, driverless transporting means which is disposed parallel to the longitudinal axis of the automotive vehicle when receiving the automotive vehicle and has horizontally extending pairs of forks which are disposed thereon at one side and perpendicularly, the forks of the pairs of forks being displaceable individually horizontally along the transporting means and the pairs of forks moving under wheels respectively of a vehicle axle from one side of the automotive vehicle in order to grip the wheels by displacing the individual forks horizontally towards each other, whereupon the automotive vehicle is lifted for transporting, surface-maneuverable supports (10-24-2013

20130183124AUTOMATED PARKING GARAGE/SELF-STORAGE APPARATUS - A parking system includes a plurality of trays having a parking platform for supporting a vehicle and legs for keeping the parking platform in an elevated position on a supporting surface of the parking facility. The parking system also has at least one automated guided vehicle for moving the tray with the vehicle thereon between an access location and a specified parking location. The automated guided vehicle has a frame and drive devices mounted on the frame. Each drive device has a turntable rotatable about a vertical axis and two independently driven wheels mounted on the turntable. The automated guided vehicle can fit beneath the parking platform of the tray and can lift the tray for moving the tray and the vehicle between the access location and the specified parking location.07-18-2013
20150139762HALL EFFECT SENSOR GRID ARRAY GUIDANCE SYSTEM - A parking system includes automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for moving automobiles to and from parking spaces in a parking facility. Each AGV is provided with a Hall effect sensor array. The parking facility has magnet arrays affixed to the floor of the parking facility. Each magnet array includes a plurality of magnets, with a specified arrangement of positive and negative poles of the magnets in the magnet array. The Hall effect sensor array senses the magnets and guides the AGV through the parking facility based on the position and alignment information determined by the Hall effect sensors.05-21-2015
