20080267725 | High Speed Industrial Hole Saw for Production Line Applications - Although useful in many industrial applications for wood, plastic or non-ferrous metals, this original form of this concept is tailored to the wood I-joist industry. One of the benefits of using wooden I-joist construction versus conventional sawn lumber joists is the ability of cutting holes for duct work and other mechanicals to pass through the system. For this to occur in an industrial environment extreme requirements must be met. The cutting rate for a production machine of this type must be unusually fast for hole saw operations. The size of hole cut is necessarily quite large. Combined with an extreme cutting rate this produces unusually large torque and fatigue requirements. Because manual extraction of the cut material would be cumbersome and consume excessive time, a means of automatic ejection of the “divot” is required. With the varying depth and width of beams to be processed comes the need for simple, quick and accurate adjustment to the machine and multiple or variable cutting diameters. | 10-30-2008 |
20090087274 | Milling head for removing heat dissipating elements from a tube - A milling head for a milling device, particularly a rotary milling device, wherein the milling head is capable of imparting a desired finish on a tube, preferably of a heat exchanger tube. The milling head includes one or more milling elements capable of cutting and/or removing heat dissipating elements connected to an outer surface of the tube. The heat dissipating elements are removed from the tube in a longitudinal direction along the tube length. In one embodiment, the milling head also includes a bevel milling element. Methods for milling a tube having heat dissipating elements are also described. | 04-02-2009 |

20130279999 | OUTSIDE DIAMETER SHAFT REDUCER - A outer diameter shaft reducer tool includes a cutter head and main body capable of assembly together through the use of a pair of set screws. The assembly can then easily be connected to a hand-held drill through a common extension thereby allowing for the provision of automated rotation of the cutting assembly. To reduce the outside diameter of a shaft, a user inserts the bar or rod into a lumen within the main body and applies pressure to cause a number of cutting teeth to engage the end portion of the bar or rod near the outer portion of the end face. As the teeth cut, the outside diameter of the shaft is thereby reduced. | 10-24-2013 |
20140017021 | APPARATUS FOR REMOVING RETAINER MATERIAL - An apparatus for removing retaining material proximate to a fastener on a surface is disclosed. The apparatus has a cavity dimensioned for receiving at least a portion of the fastener and has a non-abrasive face at its distal end. The apparatus also has a plurality of cutting inserts that are disposed proximate to the non-abrasive face and that each extend at least partially beyond the non-abrasive face while at least a portion of the non-abrasive face remains exposed to the surface. The cutting inserts are configured to rotate around the fastener to remove the retaining material. | 01-16-2014 |
