20080315712 | Brush Assembly Including Biasing Member for Applying Force - A brush assembly may include a support member, a conductive arm having a first end portion and a second end portion, where the first end portion is coupled to the support member, a brush coupled to the second end portion of the conductive arm, and a biasing member configured to apply a force to the conductive arm. | 12-25-2008 |
20090072656 | Four-pole electric motor drive with hammer brush holder system - The invention relates to a four-pole electric motor drive which has a stator and a rotor. The rotor contains a rotor shaft, a laminated rotor core containing rotor teeth, and a commutator fitted with segments. Furthermore, the drive has a hammer brush holder system which has a frame, brush support arms, one end of each arm having a brush receiver, and the other end of each arm being connected to the frame via a rotatable bearing arrangement, and carbon brushes, each of which is inserted in one of the brush receivers. | 03-19-2009 |

20090189479 | Brush Assembly - A brush assembly is provided that facilitates a longer usable brush life and permits easy brush assembly replacement. The brush assembly includes an arc-shaped brush and a pivot arm, with the mounting end of the arc-shaped brush bound or otherwise mounted with respect to one end of the pivot arm. The end of the pivot arm that is not bound to the arc-shaped brush typically includes a female cylindrical slot for mating with a male shaft that is prefabricated in the motor housing, parallel to the rotor's axis. When the disclosed brush assembly is installed into an electric motor, the pivot arm slot is slidably positioned onto the shaft in the motor housing, enabling the brush assembly to pivot about the shaft on a plane that is perpendicular to the rotor's axis of rotation. A biasing spring force impels the brush assembly to pivot inward toward the rotor in the longitudinal direction of the brush, and maintains the operating end of the arc-shaped brush in contact with the rotating faces of the commutator. A single biasing spring is adapted to act upon both the brush and an interrupter device that is activated when the brush life is exhausted. | 07-30-2009 |
20110050032 | MOTOR - A brush assembly applied to a motor includes a body portion attachable to a lower case, and an external connection substrate formed by a flexible substrate. A pair of brush pieces protrude from a front end of the body portion so as to be in contact with brush slide portions of commutator segments. The external connection substrate has a pair of terminals exposed from a housing and capable of being connected to spring terminals of an apparatus by crimping. The terminals are provided at a rear end of the external connection substrate, and protrude from the housing in the radial direction. First connecting portions electrically connected to the brush pieces are provided at a rear end of the body portion, and a pair of right and left second connecting portions are provided at a front end of the external connection substrate. | 03-03-2011 |
20130057109 | BRUSH HOLDER OF SLIP RING - A brush holder of the present invention is formed by a plurality of brush holder units in serial connection. Each brush holder unit includes an insulating base, a brush frame, and two carbon brushes. The insulating base has a protrusion and a recess on opposite sides. The brush frame has a main body received in the recess and two branches projected from opposite ends of the main body. The carbon brushes are provided on the branches of the brush frame. The protrusion of the brush holder unit is inserted into the recess of another brush holder unit to serially connect the brush holder units as well as to secure the brush frame in the recess. Therefore, the brush holder may be formed by serially connecting the brush holder units in a fast and easy way, and it provides a stable signal transmission. | 03-07-2013 |
