20090194970SAFETY RESTRAINT FOR VEHICLE TOWING ASSEMBLIES - A safety restraint for use with a towing assembly. The towing assembly is attached at a first end to a towing vehicle and at a second end to a towed vehicle. The restraint includes an elongate, hollow body that receives the towing assembly. The body is formed from at least two fibers that are woven into a multi-axis braid pattern. The cylindrical body at least partially encapsulates the towing assembly. For example, the body may include a first set of fibers arranged into a first ribbon of a particular width and a second set of fibers arranged into a second ribbon of a particular width, and the two ribbons are woven into a biaxial braid to provide the hollow body. The restraint also includes coupling mechanisms that retain the ends of the body and attach these ends to the towing vehicle and to the towed vehicle.08-06-2009
20120235382DRAWBAR SPRING COUPLER - A linkage comprises a first rounded end providing a complimentary profile configured to mate with an inner radius of a loop element in a first drawbar spring, and a second rounded end opposite the first rounded end. The second rounded end provides a complimentary profile configured to mate with an inner radius of a loop element in a second drawbar spring. The linkage is configured to be positioned between the loop element in the first drawbar spring and the loop element in the second drawbar spring such that the first rounded end is mated with the loop element in the first drawbar spring and the second rounded end is mated with the loop element in the second drawbar spring to mechanically couple the first drawbar spring in series with the second drawbar spring.09-20-2012
20150321527TRAILER HITCH STRUCTURE - A trailer hitch connected to rear frames has, on each side, a fixed member fixed to a rear end surface of the corresponding rear side frame. The rear surfaces of the fixed plates are connected to each other by a cross member. A hitch support for supporting a hitch ball is provided at the center of the cross member. A front surface upper portion of each of the fixed members is supported by an arm of a fixed bracket fixedly installed to the corresponding rear frame, so as to swing freely in a longitudinal direction.11-12-2015

20150351310HAYMAKING MACHINE WITH A COUPLING DEVICE COMPRISING AN IMPROVED RETURN DEVICE - A haymaking machine includes a chassis supported directly or indirectly on the ground by wheels and a working device connected to the chassis. The chassis includes a coupling device to which two hitching pieces are articulated each bearing a hitching pin for the hitching to the respective lower arms of a tractor. Each hitching piece cooperates with a respective return device. Each return device storing energy when the corresponding hitching pin moves, relative to the coupling device, upward from a first position. Each return device is able to release that energy to the corresponding hitching pin by returning the hitching pin toward the first position. Each return device stores energy when the corresponding hitching pin moves, relative to the coupling device, downward from a second position, and each return device can release that energy to the corresponding hitching pin by returning the hitching pin toward the second position.12-10-2015

20150345582CUSHIONING SYSTEM FOR TRAILER DRAWBAR - A trailer drawbar has a housing with a cylindrical outer chamber and a cylindrical inner chamber which are separated from one another by a stop. A first compressible bushing fits into the outer chamber and a second compressible bushing fits into the inner chamber. The bushings have aligned bores extending centrally through them. A drawbar includes a rod that extends through the bores in the bushings. One end of the rod contains an annular base, which abuts the first bushing, and a drawbar eye. The other end of the rod is threaded. An annular seal, which has an outside diameter which is substantially equal to the inside diameter of the second chamber, fits on the rod adjacent to the second bushing. The first bushing has a length and compressibility such that the seal remains entirely within the inner chamber when the first bushing is compressed to a pre-determined level, and the second bushing has a length and compressibility such that the first seal is not located completely inside of the inner chamber when the second bushing is compressed up to a second pre-determined level.12-03-2015

20090134601VEHICLE HITCH WITH MULTI-DIRECTIONAL DAMPING - The present invention is directed to a trailer hitch isolation assembly that attaches to the tongue of a fifth wheel trailer and that provides a moveable connection between a tow vehicle and the trailer. The hitch assembly includes a floating hitch attachment member such as a king pin, which is adapted to be attached to a tow vehicle. The hitch isolation assembly allows the hitch attachment member to move at least vertically relative to the tow vehicle to which the hitch assembly is connected. One or more air springs connect the floating hitch attachment to the frame of the trailer. These air springs permit relative movement between the attachment support member and the frame.05-28-2009

20140210184HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION HITCH SYSTEM - The present disclosure provides a hitch suspension system that reduces a transfer of energy (e.g., provides a smoother ride) between two bodies hitched together, such as between a towing vehicle and a towed vehicle/trailer. In an embodiment, the suspension system includes a hydraulic cylinder with an extendable rod in fluid communication with a fluid pump. A control valve is fluidly coupled between the hydraulic cylinder and the fluid pump and is configured to adjust an extension length of the rod. Additionally, a variable orifice that adjusts resistance to extension and retraction of the rod is fluidly coupled between the hydraulic cylinder and the control valve. A first fixed restrictive element is fluidly coupled in series with the variable orifice to dissipate energy ad the rod extends and a second fixed restrictive element is fluidly coupled in series with the variable orifice to dissipate energy as the rod retracts.07-31-2014
